Stayed here for an event taking place in the function rooms. I was upgraded to a bigger room than I registered for, and made to pay the price. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. The people who work there are very professional and polite. I very much enjoyed the atmosphere and the ways in which this Hotel is historical; the ways they have chosen to let the space show off its age. It is very warm in some rooms and chilly in other rooms for the function rooms. In contrast, the hotel rooms individually where you sleep have great control over what temp your room is.

Christmas is super busy for them, but the staff is friendly, and food is good 👍 even when the kitchen is backed up. But it's Christmas, so it's totally understandable. Just be sure to be kind and patient and tip your staff even if they are rushed. They didn't have a bar tender, so it is rough being short staffed on holidays. Remind your Boomer parents to be patient.

We recently stayed here one night for a family wedding in Northampton. The hotel was very accommodating for my elderly parents to receive early check in and even upgraded their room. My room was a small queen room with a nice view. Albeit small, the room had a nice closet (with robes) and mini bar. The bed was so comfortable. As an older hotel we loved its charm. Most of us had breakfast the next morning at the hotel’s restaurant which I highly recommend. The hotel is in a central location with many stores and restaurants in walking distance. If we ever return to Northampton, we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Historic and characterful hotel in old town Northampton. Rooms clean and comfortable and cosily decorated. Easy walk to many restaurants, bars and attractions in old town. Restaurant serves good and well-portioned American staples (burgers, breakfast, etc) however there are more interesting choices within walking district. But if you just fancy staying in and eating in the hotel you'll also be fine and food is good.

This hotel and it's staff is trash. I cancelled my stay months in advance and these scammers still went ahead and charged my card a no show fee. And when I called they gave me a run a run saying there was no one available to assist me. I finally got through to someone after a few tries and they refunded my money. If you like over priced hotels with lackluster staff this is the place for you. If you don't stay away from this place.

Awful night of noise. We stayed in a 5th (top) floor king room on the north end of the hotel. The noise from a wedding reception in the grand ballroom on the 1st floor, at the north end of the hotel, travelled up the stairwell across the hall from us and infiltrated our room. We could hear/feel every beat of the blaring music. I called down to the front desk and asked for them to instruct the DJ to turn down the music. I was told that other guests were also complaining about the noise. But none of our calls were resulting in any improvement. I went down to the front desk in person to again request that the events manager intervene. The front desk staff person indicated there was nothing she could do and she gave me the business card of the front desk manager. I left a message for the manager, and also called on Monday morning when I had been told by the front desk staff that she would be back in the office. But on Monday morning I was told that she wasn't in the office that day, and would be back on Tuesday. I never received a return phone call from the manager. (What makes this extra frustrating is that I had called several weeks before our visit to confirm that there were sections of the hotel that were quiet. I was reassured, yes. When we checked in, I asked for a quiet location. The front desk staff put us in that location.) If you are looking for a reasonably peaceful night, this is not the hotel for you.

The location is prime for hanging out in Northampton - but the place is otherwise no good. No staff to be found at front desk at multiple occasions and the room was filthy. Not even vacuumed and the balcony was decrepit.

Positive: Beautiful& charming. Location is in the heart of town. Rooms are spacious. Hotel has free parking which was great, because everywhere you have to pay for parking in the town. Negative: Restaurant was not open only one day a week.
