This place is AWESOME! The museum is 4 floors and has a lot to see! It has a history of Hollywood, Transformers cars, Super-friends memorabilia and more!
There was no wait to get in and the staff is friendly and eager to answer your questions. At the time of this review we paid $15 per person to enter. Depending on your time you could go through the museum in 30-45 minutes but for true fans you could spend hours there.
My only question is: how did they get the cars in there? This is a must check out in the Hollywood walk of fame.
The museum has a huge collection of photos, clothing, movie props and equipment. In general it was interesting, but the collection is skewed toward the early stars, many of which are long forgotten by most. I would suggest a reorganization and short summary of the highlights and key accomplishments of stars before the 1970’s - file the rest. Promote those from Marilyn Monroe as she is still relevant. Three floors of exhibits. We were there about 1 1/2 hours. We parked a few blocks north on the street.
Lots of interesting artifacts, some in rough shape, held in this musty dated museum. The first floor contains many artifacts of classic Hollywood along with a great many faded signatures. The second and third floors are a hodgepodge of more modern films laid out in no particular order. The basement contains horror and thriller artifacts. The museum is a happy diversion if you’re looking to kill an hour, but not much more.
My daughter and I have been here twice on vacation. She loves horror movies so the basement displays thrilled her!! My favorite was the scene from The Silence of the Lambs. Will give you chills!! The cost to enter is so affordable!! Only $15 per adult and $12 for students and seniors. I also loved the history of the building. This building was originally purchased by Max Factor in 1928! The amount of photos and memorabilia is phenomenal throughout! The museum has 4 floors of exhibits I would not recommend for really small children, they would most likely get bored and keep adults and older kids from getting the most from this amazing piece of history.
Reasonable entry fee of $15. I personally only really enjoyed the first level floor with the makeup and Old Hollywood items, but I am biased as that is my favorite movie era. The two other levels (mix of ghostbusters, transformers, etc.) and the basement (horror) did not interest me, although I did briefly walk through them. I appreciated the drag presence and honor of LGBTQIA+ filmmakers on the 3rd level (not sure if this is just for Pride Month or a regular exhibit). Heavy on Marilyn content and was surprised to not see more on Audrey, Katherine, Sophia, or Rita on the first level. Overall, if you love Hollywood it is worth checking out at least once, especially for the reasonable price!
If you love movies, this is the place for you. $12.00 for students and seniors. $15.00 for adults. There is parking at Mel's Diner, which is attached to the museum, not sure how much parking there is we parked across the street at the Hollywood and Highland mall. We ate at Mel's Diner and got a discount at the museum when we showed our receipt. The main floor is a walk through the history of Max Factor, make up creator, and make-up artists to Hollywood starlets such as Lucille Ball, Judy Garland, and Marilyn Monroe. The basement is filled with monsters past and present. 2 upper levels have more television, music, and movie exhibits. Movies and television clips play within the displays. From Universal monsters, to Peniwise the clown. From Marilyn Monroe to Angelina Joile. From silent movie leading men Rudolph Valentino to Brad Pitt. There was so much to see we went two weekends just to see it all.
For movie fans! Right in the middle of all the action in Hollywood on Highland. Fun museum with movie props from the early days of Hollywood to today. They got items from movies like Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Star Wars, horror movies and golden age like Lucy and Max Factor. Price is not expensive. Probably takes about an hour to see the whole museum.
Popped into here after the celeb homes tour and was super glad we did!
We are both super horror fans and the horror dungeon was epic!
The staff are super friendly (as are all Americans!) the guy who I think was security? (Didn’t get his name sadly) Was super lovely and spoke to us at length about his trip with lady gaga in London!
Another plus was it was super affordable for how much cool stuff they have and we didn’t have to wait to enter literally walked straight in!

Best theater experience ever! Very quick to get in, lines moved very fast, and security was super nice. The theater was clean, the only complaint would be that the seats are a little small and close together. Beautiful stage, we saw the Original Batm
