The Hindu Temple Society of North America - Hindu temple in Queens - 45-57 Bowne St, USA

This temple is a crown jewel of Queens. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The priests are kind and approachable. They offer comprehensive Hindu services, as well as classes and events. I recently attended for Ganesh Chaturthi and stayed for hours. I recommend planning to spend as much time as possible when you visit. The canteen offers delicious food (dosas, idli, vada, papadam) at good prices, making it a destination where you can stay all day. It's an absolutely gorgeous place to worship and connect with god.

Beautiful temple and well maintained with access to information and well organised. Very lively place and celebrations are grand during festivals and especially during Ganesh Chathurthi. Very powerful Temple with many devotees having great experiences including myself. Temple is full of positive vibes and pleasant feeling. They also have a temple canteen where devotees can purchase the food and please visit the temple if you are in NY.

This place is famous for the authentic Indian food mostly! It was a great experience visiting the place. When I reached there with my friends, it was some abhishek time, so there was a small procession within the temple. The food in the canteen downstairs is pretty good and authentic. The place is usually crowded and there’s a bit of wait time after you order food. Vada-sambar and Set dosa tasted great. I would NOT suggest to try Mango Lassi. It seemed sourer and watery than real lassis. Has good snacks options to take home.

Most beautiful, calm and serene, blissful, well maintained temple in the USA 🇺🇸. The priests are friendly, kind and welcoming which was a surprise for us. First time visiting this temple in Queens, New York. Easy access using Train and Bus. The god and goddess idols are pretty 😍 and beautifully decorated. Felt lots of positivity, calmness and good energy. Highly recommended of your are visiting NYC. Check out the temple canteen in the basement. It's clean temple with canteen. They have priests to do Pooja. And offer many various kinds of Pooja services. It's built south Indian type however they carry all gods for everyone. It's just very clean the temple and built well spacious. temple canteen group floor is in the basement, has dosa, samosa so idli sambar so forth. Temple itself is nice.

Ganesh Temple is the biggest temple for Hindus in NYC. Hopefully they will increase the parking spaces in the future.

Peaceful serene place. There’s on street parking just outside the temple, wasn’t much crowded on the Sunday we visited. You can opt to get Darshana or flower for God at the entrance. Priests are approachable to talk or ask questions on offerings. Clean and neatly maintained space. There’s space to hang your coats. They have a canteen and gift shop in the basement.
