We try to get away several times each year and this trip was by far one of our best! The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and the view on the balcony was amazing. We planned to only eat at the onsite bar/grill one night but the food was SO good we ate there every night. The wait staff was amazing, the bartender could make anything you asked for and the chef goes out of his way to make the food taste special. We will be back, it was worth the 5 hour drive.

My Wife and I went on a little get a way to this resort to do some fishing and play golf and we had a wonderful time. Our room was super clean! It’s smelled cleaned too. The balcony was very nice we had a beautiful view. The ponds were very pretty. The golf course was beautiful with tons of space on both sides just incase you don’t hit straight. We also had a great time playing some basketball. The view outside is just so nice and relaxing no matter what you are doing. The staff was super nice. Front desk was very nice and the lady from the pro shop was super sweet and very helpful. The gym they have is amazing with an amazing view. The pool looked very very nice. We really enjoyed this resort and would most definitely recommend it. We will be coming again soon!

We stayed in the cabins and had a great visit. The property is in good condition but in need of minor maintenance. The hot tub was perfect on the chilly mornings/evenings and the pool made for a great ice bath plunge! Staff was friendly but not overly knowledgeable. Pickleball courts were super fun and very well maintained. Same with the golf course!

We rented a cabin while we were in town. It’s a pretty place but it wasn’t worth it for us. The photos online definitely made the cabins look better than they are. The cabins could use some maintenance. Upon trying to get into the cabin, the key card scanned and showed a green light, but the door was stuck and wouldn’t open. After a few try’s, we got it open but the hardware of the door fell apart once the door opened. The condition of the door once inside looked like someone had previously broken in. I immediately called the front desk to let them know so they don’t charge us. The master bed was hilarious. The bed frame is on wheels and the headboard was not mounted to the bed frame so any movement and the headboard is banging on the wall and felt like it would tip over. We ended up picking it up and moving it into the living room. There is either no wifi or the TV in that cabin doesn’t work, because we couldn’t get the wifi to even turn on to be able to connect to our personal hotspot. The mini split units do not have instructions so it took a long time to figure out how to get the heater on (it was in the low 40s that night). The upstairs loft is extremely small, but we expected that. What he didn’t expect was the pee stains. We were moving the mattresses in the loft and the corner of the sheet came up and there was pee stains all over it. The girls at the bar were really nice but the Sunday brunch was cold and overpriced. We ate at 10AM and everything was cold. Not sure how they have brunch until 2 PM if the foods already cold by 10 AM. This may be a good place to hang out and play golf, but it was not at all worth it for us.

I used the cabin which was real nice. However, at night it was way too dark and difficult to see the cabin numbers. Also the parking is too far away from the cabins making it difficult to load and unload your vehicle. Also, there was no Wifi service. It was pretty quiet.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Hideout Golf Club and Resort during the last week of March in 2023. The resort was located in a beautiful setting, with nice views of the Lake Brownwood, Texas area. While not a regular golfer myself, it appeared that the golf course was being enjoyed by many fans. Despite the beautiful setting, we did find that there were some shortcomings with the rooms and the resort in general. We stayed on the bottom floor of the lodge in a room with two queen beds. The rooms were clean but, outdated and in dire need of deferred maintenance. The beds were acceptably comfortable, with good pillows, but the drapes in the bedroom were VERY thin and would allow passers-by to see into the room after the sun went down. This was disturbing, and we were forced to hang the sheets from one of the beds over the drapes to have any privacy whatsoever. Here is a more detailed review of the pros and cons of the resort: Pros: Beautiful setting and views of the Lake Brownwood countryside. Reasonably priced food that was delicious. Friendly and helpful staff. Cons: The full-length drapes in the first-floor bedrooms were completely see-through. Access to check-in was awkward with no luggage assistance or elevator from the lobby. There was a coffee bar that was never open. The entire resort needed basic touch-ups and repairs. There were not enough towels in the bathrooms. There were no water glasses in the bathrooms. There was no clock or telephone in the bedrooms. The nightstands had no charge outlets and limited power plugs. The headboards were terrible and needed to be attached. The lighting in both the bathroom and bedroom was very dim. No hair dryer. No dirty clothes bags. No grab bars in the shower. No room service. No vending machines. In general, I would recommend the Hideout Golf Resort to golfers looking for a nice course in a scenic setting. However, we would not recommend the resort to those who are looking for luxurious accommodations. UPDATE - AUGUST 2023: I was later informed that the resort had changed ownership shortly before our stay. Hopefully, some of the shortcomings have been resolved. Regardless, we still had a pleasant stay in March.

Went and played on a Friday and there was not that much play. Had a 10am tee time. Charge was $100 for the round. Now I am from Florida and for $100 you can play a very good course. So after paying that price I was expecting a course in excellent condition. Well this was not the case. Staff was courteous, but the course was not in great condition. Fairways were not all green and the tee boxes were so hard on some you could not even stick you tee in the ground. This is a 50 dollar course all day long. The course does not match the facilities. Will not be playing this course again when visiting friends and family.
