The Heinsman Guest House - Featured Reviews (16)
We loved our time at the Heinsman Guest House! Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable! The linens were nice and the bathrooms were well tended to. ||This is a hostel so the bathrooms and kitchen are shared but we never had any issues with any of this. No one lingered in the bathrooms. ||The only thing I will say is that it is pretty noisy. But they provide ear plugs and as long as you wear them to sleep it’s no problem. ||I can’t recommend it enough!
It looks pretty, and the location is great, but it is not what it looks like. The showers are so dirty and full of grime. And to make matters worse, who knows when they last changed my sheets. There were hairs that clearly weren't mine everywhere, in my bed, on the floor, everywhere. I wish I hadn't been too tired to notice last night. I would not have slept in that bed.
I am so grateful I found this wonderful hostel. Personable and friendly service from Ben upon arriving. The rooms are clean, well designed and private. Happy I could have my dog here. Love the wood floors and all the personal touches. Will absolutely stay again.
Great space, nice community feel and i didnt feel self conscious cooking for myself in the kitchen. It's also in the heart of downtown so great location to walk to some things if u can stand the slightly desolate gaps between destinations. I also felt very safe with the doors being locked to everyone but residents.
It needs to be more clearly stated on hotel listings that this is a hostel style stay. The property manages their listing but mention nothing of hostelry on their Expedia ad, and this is hotel pricing at 190+ for 2 nights with discounts and Expedia points. The AC did not work once the entire stay, the heat in the room was stifling. Restrooms are shared and down a hall with dorm sized shower stalls. The pictures are beautiful but, in person, the place needs so many cosmetic repairs. There isn't as much in walking distance as advertised either, and the single walk I did was not safe. Overall, the listing was misrepresented, it was stifling hot, and the bathrooms were not very clean and are shared.
This would be a great place to come for a getaway with my husband.
Pros: They had a nice supply of crackers and waters in the lobby. The kitchen area was clean. Plenty of reminders to clean up after yourself. The room was easy to get in and out of. The beds were comfortable. The rooms were definitely better than a hotel room. We received information on the place in a timely manner.
Cons: A weekend night with kids is not recommended. Though out of their control there is a bar close enough that you can hear the conversations going on inside it. Music rattled our windows through the night. ALOT of smoking on the grounds. I’m not talking about just cigarettes either. (Had a very inappropriate situation due to this with another guest). They do have quite hours posted. That doesn’t stop tap dancing on the ceiling at 3 AM. My son (age 3) crawled under the bed while playing. Came out covered in dog hair (just a side effect of a pet friendly place but was noticeable).
I think the husband and I will definitely try it again. Somethings are out of a businesses control. People just suck sometimes. In the end it was worth what we paid and made our vacation more pocket friendly.
It is literally impossibly to get any sleep in this place.
It’s an old building, all hardwood floors throughout, and the guest room doors are paper thin.
What this means is that you can literally hear Every. Single. Thing. That happens ANYWHERE in the building.
Every door open and close reverberates through the halls like the sound of an atom bomb. You can practically participate in conversations with people staying above or below you. The bar next door also supplies no shortage of rowdy sidewalk activity for your listening pleasure.
The added star is for location and cleanliness but I wouldn’t stay here again.
Loved the experience. Everything was very clean. Really enjoyed the old roominghouse experience. Kept me updated with txt which I loved. I will stay here again. Not for those who are not used to the old school but want modern hotel rooms. Loved the experience.
The community of amazing people and coaches is what keeps me coming back every day. Real people with real lives who are dedicated to their health and fitness! Thankful to have been a part of the community here for the last two years. Come join us :)
Best gym membership Iâve ever had. Keeps me accountable since you get a great workout in just one hour without having to plan a workout. Couch Scout is my fave.
Before leaving Chattanooga, we wanted to stop and get coffee from a local place. And what a great pick! I got an iced caramel latte and it was delicious.
I was in Chattanooga for a week and got to workout at Lookout Fitness 3 different times. Each day the coaches and members were so welcoming and kind to me. They even made room for me to be judged during the Open workout, which I was expecting to have
This place is a haven for transformation. From the moment I walked through their doors, it was evident that this place is more than just a gymâit's a community built on genuine care and unwavering support.
