Overall a great stay! Only stayed one night while passing through town and the beds were comfortable and we loved the courtyard and balcony room. Christina was awesome and met us at the gate and got us checked in and shown to our room (we did park a block away because I had read the other reviews about no parking on site). The theme is a bit overdone with everything red/black and spell books on the mantle, etc, but our kids thought it was fun and we did not notice any paranormal activity. It is an older building but the doors locked well, the shower was hot with good pressure, the AC wall unit worked pretty well, and the mattresses were firm so no complaints there. There is a small kitchen on the ground floor in the front building that is open for guest use and was a nice touch. It was an easy walk to the French Quarter which we loved and had a very fun night!

Our stay at the eerie [The Haunted Hotel] was a uber haunting delight! The innkeepers, were so warm & welcoming despite the chilling atmosphere. They made us feel deathly at ease. The room had everything we needed. We even encountered a ghost! 😉 We were reluctant to depart, wishing we could have lingered longer in the shadowy couryard. The hotel's dark charm was captivating, and the staff's hospitality only added to the spellbinding experience! We would most definitely return the next time we are in the French Quarter!

Had a great stay. The room was nice and clean. Awesome decor and theme to the place. Christina was extremely helpful and welcoming. The location was perfect! Also loved the courtyard. Our only complaint is the parking situation and finding the entrance, but I know they can't help that. We will definitely stay here again when we come back.

Warning: this hotel is too good and the staff are unreasonably accommodating, leaving you feeling disappointed when you return to your shabby home and humdrum life. Everyone from the office manager to the cleaning staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The manager went way above and beyond to accommodate our schedule. It would be a tough sell to get me to stay anywhere else in New Orleans. Thanks for everything! - The Pineapple Boys

My wife found this hotel for a trip we took in 2023. We liked it so much that we came back this year. If you're looking for a unique, quiet, comfortable place in the French Quarter, this is a great choice.||Let's start with the name. There's absolutely no shortage of hotels in the French Quarter that claim to be haunted. This one puts it right in the name and the decor. If you have a young child who is very easily scared, this might not be the place for them. However, this isn't a Halloween haunted house with animated skeletons and spooky noises. The ghosts never woke me. In fact, they'd have a hard time waking me in their very comfortable beds. The location has a connection to the Axeman. Of course, so do a bunch of other places in New Orleans.||As long as you are capable of a gentle walk of a couple of miles, there's no part of the French Quarter you can't walk to from this hotel. If what you really want to do is stroll over to Frenchman St. to hear some music and have a short walk back at the end of the night, it's a great location. There isn't any parking available at the hotel. Parking isn't exactly something you do in the French Quarter.||While the hotel itself doesn't have any breakfast offerings, Croissant D'Or is next door. It's only a couple of blocks from the French Market as well. There are plenty of quick foods available there, along with lots of vendors selling interesting things during the day. Check for events there. We attended a free cooking demo one morning.||The staff at The Haunted Hotel are very friendly. They aren't there round the clock, so if you need to arrange a late check-in, make arrangements in advance. The entrance is through a locked gate next to the front of the hotel, which makes it very secure. I can't describe it as anything other than a narrow alley back to the courtyard. That courtyard is very comfortable.||There are at least two somewhat different styles of rooms. The ones in back facing into the courtyard are more recently renovated. The ones we've seen there have larger bathrooms than the ones in the front building. They also appear to have had a makeover fairly recently. The only thing we had a problem with was an air conditioner that leaked some condensation. The staff took a few minutes to determine which room they could move us to and all was good.||This place has more of the vibe of a bed and breakfast (minus the breakfast) than a hotel. If what you want is a vacation that's unique, while still being safe and comfortable with sights, restaurants and entertainment close at hand, they've got it.

This was our first time in New Orleans. Originally we had reservations at Hotel Monteleone. But when I discovered the haunted hotel, I canceled my reservations with Monteleon and quickly reserved our rooms here. We spent the weekend with friends celebrating a 50th birthday! At first we could not get in the gate because we arrived late in the evening, and the key lock at the gate was not working, but I had no problems getting in touch with my hotel contact who made sure we got in. The staff is amazing and yes, there’s no staff there after 7 PM (not a surprise as They informed us of that prior to our arrival). If we needed anything, we just contacted them by phone and they quickly responded. As for the hotel itself it was built in 1829 so you need to expect it to be old. The princess beds are unique to the period of the hotel. Our bed was a little firm, but I didn’t have any problems sleeping, not even with the axeman silhouette next to me in the closet. Our rooms were clean. The showers are nicely renovated. It takes a while for the hot water to get hot but you’re on Vacay. I hope you have nothing but time while you’re on vacation. We did so we didn’t mind. we made new friends from Baton Rouge while sitting in the courtyard. They are meeting us back at the Haunted Hotel in March 2025. The location of the hotel is great as well. There’s a very nice bakery next-door and two blocks down is the French market. the best place to eat breakfast is The French Toast which is also two blocks down and it’s a five minute walk to Bourbon Street. We are looking forward to the next visit. We had such a great time!

Outstanding location! We felt safe and comfortable during our stay; Staff are very friendly, welcoming, and quick to answer any questions you have. The Haunted Hotel will be an easy choice for all my future visits to New Orleans :)

By far the creepiest place we ever stayed. The 2 ladies in the front desk staff (Christina and Christina) are the best. The rooms are super cozy and clean. We stayed in 114 with balcony facing the quarter. And it was perfect ,all night we felt like someone was here in the room. And we even had EMF meters going off and it even stormed like it was the end of the world. Crazy St. Patrick's weekend. Will come back
