The Hale Pau Hana is a diamond in paradise! We used to come here every year before kids, but life got too busy and expensive when our 2 boys were born. Now that our sons are teenagers, we HAD to take them to The Hale Pau Hana. It has not changed a bit (except for solar panels on the roof). We first stayed 3 nights at Wailea Marriott which was nice, but the 7 nights we spent at The Hale Pau Hana was pure bliss. ||The location and the ability to just feel at home can't be beat. We hit Costco and stocked up for the week, allowing us to BBQ on the super clean BBQ's and eat like Kings & Queens. Just steps away from the ocean makes this the ideal location for families. We had a floor lanai room (#8) which was amazing. This was one of the only, if not the only, floor level rooms that had A/C both in the living area and the bedroom. All the things you need to live are right there in the updated kitchen...including a dishwasher. ||The sunsets are spectacular and the snorkeling is pretty good. We saw a few turtles right there in the waves. ||Plus, the staff is super nice and everyone on the grounds is just happy to be there. ||Honestly, this place is such a great option for island living in South Maui. Thank you Hale Pau Hana!
Hale Pau Hana does not disappoint in any way. This small hotel in South Maui in Kihei is a perfect location for a couples vacation. The staff is wonderful and very accommodating. The units are beautifully appointed and the most amazing direct view of the Ocean. There is a wonderful oceanside pool that is heated as well. The property is extremely well maintained and is located centrally making it easy to access adventures all over the island. There are multiple bars, shops, and restaurants within walking distance. I cannot say enough about what a wonderful experience it was stay at the Hale Pau Hana. We will definitely be back next time we are in Maui!
This trip marked the 15th time that my wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed Hale Pau Hana, dating back to our honeymoon in 1974. This year we rented 3 units and our two daughters and their families joined us for what was a fabulous 10 day, 50th wedding anniversary vacation. All 3 units were clean, comfortable and well equipped as usual. Everyone enjoyed the beach, snorkeling with fish and turtles, swimming in the pool, relaxing on the chaise lounges on the lawn and watching the beautiful sunsets. The barbecues provided for great family dinners for 10 people, pulling together tables on the well manicured lawn. We all enjoyed dinners at Cafe O’Lei (across the street), Leilani’s On The Beach (Kaanapali) and Monkeypod Kitchen (Wailea). Ziplining at NorthShore Zipline Co. (Haiku) was one of the many Maui attractions we all enjoyed.
This is our happy place. The unit was spectacular and right on the ground level with easy access to the beach and the pool. We have stayed at Hale Pau Hana on several occasions and it will not disappoint. The staff are amazing and friendly where nothing is too much trouble
5 night stay in unit 701. This was our favorite place after 4 other visits to Maui. Unit 701 was beautiful. It was just my wife and I, but we both appreciated having the second bathroom to spread out our things. Beach chairs and umbrella was provided. The kitchen was well stocked and everything that we used was functional. The location of this complex is perfect. The beach and grounds are amazing. I think it was a bit of a slow season when we were there, but parking was never full and there was always plenty of chairs and space at the pool. We did not do any laundry during this stay, but there are machines on site if needed.|The staff was friendly but other than check-in we did not need their help with anything.|We would definitely stay in this same unit again and would consider staying in any room in this complex.
What an amazing experience we had staying at this lovely condo. It was so clean and cozy. They had everything we needed for our amazing stay even a pull out bed in the living room that my daughter slept on. Super comfy BTW. Make sure you go to Costco and get all of your daily needs like eggs, coffee, snacks fruits & Alcohol for your blended cocktails. Wink wink, cause you will definitely save a lot of money. They also have filtered water and ice which is a bonus. Washer and dryer which is amazing to have when your on vacation. |Let's talk about the most important thing! The amazing view! Every morning we got up to the sound of the ocean and the magical sunrise. It doesn't even look real. I had my coffee on the balcony every morning and was just so amazing, It felt like a dream. Parking is so easy and fast. We park right in front of the door all we had to do was walked upstairs. So easy and convenient!|Sunset is something you see in a movie. Enough said. The beach was so private and not crowded at all. I felt like I was on my own island staying at this location. Coming back next year for sure and staying in the same place. The Hale Pua Hana is what I'd always hoped to get in a Maui condo - a marvelously well kept site, great beach proximity, and free parking. The staff were all kind and courteous, and it is clear they are very professional as the entire facility is maintained to the highest degree. The condo itself was very nice, included air conditioning (not necessarily needed, but a nice to have), and the kitchen had been redone in recent history. The site itself is walking distance to several restaurants and stores, multiple beaches, and a Foodland (about a mile). It was nice to see several other families with young children staying here as well. Overall my family was extremely pleased with our stay and will be coming back again (and we will tell our friends as well)!
Right on the beach with quite the view and the softest sand. Everything you could ask for in walking distance. Every morning turtles would swim by ocean side along with a reef to snorkel at your leisure. We celebrated our honeymoon and had an amazing time!

The BEST meals Iâve had in Maui are at Earth Aloha Eats. Amazing plant based options for vegans and non-vegans. Recommend the chickân burger and the pulled pork fries. Gyro is also tasty (but so packed you might not get to actually wrap it). Come
