I love this house! Historical and paranormal, and the owners are proud of both facts. The owners love to share stories about both sides on the tour and welcome photos. They ask that no videos be recorded, though.
My wife and I took the tour of The Grove this afternoon. It is a beautiful home and Mr. Whitington is an excellent guide. Thanks to him and his wife for opening their historic home for others to experience. They have not only done a remarkable job in restoring this place but also in researching and preserving its history. Do yourself a favor and take this tour if you find yourself in Jefferson. Mr. Whitington is also an excellent author who has published many books.
We loved the tour Mitchel - the current owner - filled with wonderful history and great story telling. The home is beautiful and although a private residence it feels kept as a museum of sorts. Some of the items are from the previous owners. The oddity of the home is that people have had things happen here that they can’t explain. We had our own experiences here and yet, it was not scary or disturbing. Make time to come to the tour here when you are in Jefferson, Tx.
Excellent experience, Mitchell the homeowner/ guide was fabulous and entertaining to listen to. No ghostly experiences but we enjoyed the history and this lovely unique historic home.
This was our first time going on the Grove tour and Mitchell did not disappoint! Thank you so much for your kindness and your stories and answering all of our questions.
Enjoyed the house! Mitchel, the owner, is a very welcoming and friendly tour guide and is passionate about the history of his home. He obviously told us paranormal stories but also told us history facts involving the home. The home is small and since its lived in, you understandably wont see every room but what we were able to see was really neat. I bought his book “The Grove” and highly recommend it, I am sucked in and I’m not even someone who likes to read books.
Had a great time. Tour was informative and entertaining. Definitely recommend while you are in Jefferson, TX.
It is a wonderful historical home. The current owner is very knowledgeable and shared his knowledge of the home and the town with us. There is rumor that it's haunted but I didn't experience anything. So you don't have to be afraid just enjoy the history and the environment.
Amazing! I would rate higher if I could. The location, building, staff, decor, food, drinks, all amazing! My daughter and I stopped in for a quick bite and drink before enjoying our day in downtown Jefferson and we were not disappointed. The owner an

We went for a quick visit and ended up spending half the day! Most of the animals were very friendly and eager to get head scratches and feed. We will definitely make a return trip.
