The Grey Hen Rx at Century Grand - Cocktail bar in Phoenix - 3626 E Indian School Rd, USA

Super cute Apothecary themed bar! Booked a reservation for 2 at 9pm on a Wednesday night and had a blast. When you RSVP online, it’s $20 per person, and covers their 1 drink minimum. 👌 We ordered two of the quick fixes & prescriptions, The Saville Row & The North Star, both super unique flavors. We sampled the strawberry fernet but I wasn’t really vibing with it. The bartender, Aspen, walked us through the menu and my date ordered a local beer and I ended up ordering two drinks. For my two main drinks I had the Oaxacan Old Fashioned and the Estrella, Estrella. I am more of a tequila and Mezcal person than whiskey or gin so I am happy with my choices. We went on a weekday and since it wasn’t too busy we had a super fun time. Pro tip: Great for date night 🥂

There are three themed bars at Century Grand. We had reservations for the Grey Hen Rx, which is apothecary themed. When you walk into Century Grand, it's as if you are transported into another time and place. It's almost like you're outside, but you're really inside! You'll see a train car, which is another themed bar, trees, an 'outdoor' patio for the apothecary, and an indoor bar. It's really amazing what they've created here. You'll even hear a train whistle and see steam coming from the train when you're enjoying your drinks at the apothecary. It's one thing to look at photos and videos, but a whole other thing to be immersed in the scenery. You'll have to go and check it out. A few things worth mentioning... Reservations are recommended, but you will have to pay a deposit. This prevents cancellations. Don't be late because you only get 90 minutes. Also, there's no food, so you'll have to eat at one of the great restaurants in the area.

It was absolutely beautiful. The apothecary felt like it. There were skulls, phoenixes rising from the ashes and the whole drama of the place was breathtaking. I would go here just for the ambience. The drinks are a whole other story. They are amazing. As amazing as the bartenders serving them. They indulged in all of our questions about Phoenix and we absolutely enjoyed he discussion.

We absolutely love this place. Been there twice and had the same amazing server both times. Peter was so knowledgeable about all the drinks and super friendly. He even remembered us and it had been 4 weeks since our last visit. The drinks are awesome and yes it is a true cocktail lounge and no food. We always make reservations for dinner after. They are pretty strict about the 90 minute policy. Century grand has three bars and this is one of them.

Having previously experienced the Undertow in Gilbert, we knew exactly what we were getting into at the Grey Hen Rx and were looking forward to this new atmosphere. The Grey Hen is the only experience (of the 3) that have mocktails on the menu. I imagine the others could make them if you asked but the 3 options here were quite delicious. They're made with the same flare as all the others but without the alcohol. Freddy our mixologist was super-cool and we enjoyed watching him at work. He was easy to engage and provided great service for our group. Looking forward to trying Platform 18 next!

Met some friends here one evening and had a blast. It’s a great place with a huge bourbon and whiskey selection. Can get just about any drink you want made or poured neat. Also offered samples before just trying as some are a bit pricey as all places are. Bradford was an exceptional bar tender and helped us learn and try new items all night. It’s not going to be a cheap night but if you want to get away and enjoy yourself with friends, would recommend checking this place out.

It's such a fun themed bar. Great drinks and great service. We had such a fun time here. They have 3 themed bars. We were able to visit the new oreleans one and the sea one (grey hen rx for the former and undertow for the latter). Both were awesome!, but the new oreleans grey hen rx was my favorite. Such great drink choices. New and old school. Go and have a nice evening here. It's expensive, but worth the experience.
