Very comfortable mattress, slept great although no blackout curtains let the morning light in more than I’m used to. Beach badges are included! Great perk As are beach chairs, umbrellas and towels. We stayed on the 4th floor. The walls were pretty thin because we could hear the neighbors watching tv but we put on our white noise and I couldn’t hear it anymore. Everyone who worked there was really nice and helpful. Only downside to the stay was the elevator was out of order our last two days so we had to haul our luggage down 4 flights. Continental breakfast was more like a snack bar. I liked how they had free water and iced tea out in the lobby. Great location, walking distance to restaurants and one block from the beach, we could actually see the ocean from our room. Rooms are pretty tight so not much room if you are traveling with big suitcases. Overall we would stay here again! We really enjoyed the historic vibe of the building and its location!

Our one night stay at the Grenville Hotel was great. We were 4 adults, 1 toddler & a puppy and stayed in the 2 room family suite on the second floor. It looked exactly like what was pictured on the website. The rooms were nicely decorated and the beds were very comfortable. Everything was extremely clean and I liked that there wasn’t any carpeting in the rooms. Even though the hotel is located on a busy street it was surprisingly quiet during the night. Maureen, the owner and the other employees were very helpful and accommodating. You could tell that they loved dogs and welcomed our pup with open arms. The breakfast was very basic and no frills but was all we needed to get the day started. The Grenville is one block away from the beautiful Bay Head beach. We stayed there the beginning of June and since the town hadn’t started to check badges yet we were able to bring our pup to the beach with us. The hotel does provide beach chairs, umbrellas, towels and badges to their guests. We highly recommend the Grenville Hotel and hope to return next year!

We just returned from a wonderful stay at the Grenville Hotel in Bay Head, NJ. The location is perfect to the beach and quaint shops/restaurants in town. The staff are all very friendly and professional. It's great that the beach chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, beach tags, bikes are all included. We appreciated having a continental breakfast included however it would be good to see a few more lower sugar/healthier options available. As a long time Type 1 diabetic it would be great to see other options like plain instant oatmeal packs amongst the sugared flavored ones, plain yogurt, small serving cottage cheese containers, higher protein bar options, etc. Just a few suggestions. Overall, a very fun few days at the Grenville. We will return and would absolutely recommend!!

Rooms are not that big, pictures look better. Beds are less than fair. Elevator was broken for more than 24 hrs. Staff was really nice. Parking was really hard. Nice location! No dogs allowed on beach. No pool at hotel, porch only for r&r. Fair experience!

To sum it up - it was like spending the weekend at Grandma's house. The only difference is that we paid nearly $800 for the stay, didn't get fed, and weren't given hugs and kisses. The room was tiny. The balcony had a table with two chairs - all were dusty with a crumbs and a layer of dust. The room had a musty smell. There was a lamp (that provided the optimum lighting) that flickered continuously. The restaurant kept getting booked up for events, which meant that guests have to go elsewhere to get food! Imagine that! The continental breakfast was meh... it would have helped if the toaster actually works! The very least they could do was provide bottled water in the room, for the price that they charge. None of that too. On the positive side, the hotel is in a great location - the beautiful beach is mere minutes away on foot. The hotel also provided beach towels, chairs and umbrellas, which is almost a saving grace for the disappointing stay. Overall, definitely not worth almost $800 for the two nights we spent in the King bed balcony room. Do a bit of research and you will find better accommodation.

If I could rate it a zero I would have. Walk in the front door to dirty floors and makeshift front desk, with kids checking you in that look like they were homeless. Bathroom in the hallway was filthy and one of the urinals didn't work. The room was a shoebox, with one small air conditioner not even big enough to cool a minuscule bathroom. The linens and towels were about as cheap as you can get. To top it off the TV was mounted on the side wall, so the only way you could watch it is if you wanted to sit up on the side of your bed. And last but not least, we had to wait for beach passes, because they ran out. I don't think a dollar has been put into this place in 20 years.

Went to The Grenville for their Easter Sunday brunch buffet with my family. They offered a large variety of food which had a little of everything you’d like. All the food was hot and very delicious. Tried a little of everything and had no complaints from anyone at the table. The large shrimp cocktail table was a big hit at our table. The wait staff was very friendly and efficient with keeping the table clean and getting drinks filled.

On line The Grenville Hotel & Restaurant met our needs for a handicapped room that allows a dog but, what we didn't expect was how accommodating and nice the owner and staff were. The picturesque victorian hotel is very pretty. There is a elevator that helped with wheelchair accessibility. They have two beautiful dining rooms, one indoor with gorgeous windows over looking the front porch and the other on the covered porch wrapping around the front and side of the hotel. They are known for their great weekend brunches. I found out later that my sister and mother used to come to the hotel for brunch frequently. We plan to return to The Grenville when we have more time. The hotel is located one block from the New Jersery shoreline in Bay Head, New Jersey. Thank you to the owners and staff for being so nice and accommodating.
