The hostel was a treat after 5 days into our AT hike. Bill and Donna were welcoming to our WILD group of 9 ladies. They shuttle us from Unicoi Gap back to the hostel. Gave us a tour of rooms and amenities. We showered, got laundry service, we were able to clean and organize our gear, got shuttle service to town and had a great and warm breakfast before we set out to continue our trek on the AT. They had everything we needed to recuperate for the evening. Thank you Bill, Donna, Grace and Nimrod everything!

If you’re looking for a place to stay near the AT in North Georgia, look no further. My wife and I stayed for four nights, and we cannot say enough good things about the Green Dragon, and the owners, Bill & Donna. Their hostel is top notch, and the hospitality is unrivaled. The Green Dragon has everything necessary for a comfortable respite off the trail. Comfy beds. Clean bathrooms and showers. All the amenities necessary to make your stay easy. They have thought of everything. Staying at the Green Dragon is like being at home. On top of that, Bill & Donna know every nook and cranny along the trail from Amacalola to Winding Stair, and can help facilitate whatever your needs are whether you are a through hiker, section hiker, or day tripper. Our visit would have been way less productive without them. Thank you Bill & Donna (and NR) so much! It truly was a pleasure and a privilege to stay at the Green Dragon. Looking forward to coming back.

Wow! Bill and Donna have thought of everything. Absolutely amazing hosts and wonderful location. By far the best hostel I have experienced. Clean, really comfortable, amazing breakfast, laundry done, and experienced and helpful hosts. We slack packed for a day and they met us at the trail to pick up our packs and provide us with day packs. They were waiting at the end of the day and took us straight to town to get dinner then to the hostel. Love this place!

Donna and Bill are so accommodating! The hostel is super nice and has just about everything you could need. They bend over backwards to help get you on and off trail and into town. Everything about this place and its owners is great and you should definitely stay here if you're hiking anywhere nearby!

We loved the Green Dragon! Bill and Donna are the best. So very accommodating. They make sure your stay is the best. We would stay there again. They shuttled us to and from the trail, they got us to an outfitters and a store to resupply, They took us to a wonderful dinner, and they fed us an amazing breakfast. We forgot some of our food in the fridge and they made sure they got it to us. Above and beyond! Thank you Billand Donna😁

Relax, eat delicious food, drink coffee on a porch with a gorgeous view of the mountains. Donna and Bill welcomed us in at a moment's notice, and my sister and I were made to feel at home. Laundry services, beautiful bunk rooms complete with lovely gathering areas. During our stay, Donna and Bill hiked in to help me as I had injured my knee, and they also rescued another hiker while we were there. They are truly dedicated to creating a wonderful experience for hikers.

The shuttle pick up was perfect, easy to schedule with Donna and no wait if you give her a shout heading down blue mountain (after you’ve already made a res they’re popular!) Nimrod was extremely kind and funny; he has a ton of great info so if you get chatting you won’t regret it. Overall the stay was amazing, everything was clean, the responsiveness was insane and it felt like I was just going to stay with extended family when I arrived.

If you’re a hiker this is THE place to stay. The hosts could not be more knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating to their guests. I stayed there twice during my thru hike and was beyond pleased with the clean rooms, amenities, and amazing breakfast.
