My husband and I had a fantastic lunch ! The food was delicious. They offer many different beers on tap, which is great. I loved the cheese sauce .... very addicting. This restaurant seems very family-friendly, which is a plus. I will definitely come back with my husband. Our waitress was very nice and sweet. This restaurant has a very positive vibe.
I've been talking about this meal I had for days. Their menu is extensive and there's something for everyone. My husband and I split a burger and a chicken sandwich, at first I saw the price of the burger and was a bit skeptical. The burger was absolutely massive and it had a delicious cheese sauce on top and was 100% worth the price. The chicken club we got grilled, the kids got mac and cheese with fries and a side of cheese sauce. The day we went we didn't try any of the craft beers, there is a very wide selection of local beers on the menu. I LOVED this place
Went for lunch around 1:00, it was busy but got a table right away! Great beer selection!! I ordered the PB & J Bird sandwich. Fantastic! Side of Slaw went perfectly with the hot and sweetness of the cripsy sandwich. Everything ordered at the table was fresh and tasty. The homemade salad dressings were really top notch!! Our waitress was wonderful. Polite, funny and checked in throughout our time there. We grabbed a t-shirt on the way to remember our delightful meal and experience. Only reason I rated 4 instead of 5 stars is because I was hoping for a bit more seafood options, being in Maine. Such as steamers or pei mussels. Highly recommend!
I was unfortunately disappointed with my experience at The Great Lost Bear. The kitchen was backed up and it took over an hour to get our appetizers. We ended up being there over 2 hours in total. This wouldn’t have been as much of an issue, if our server had bothered to acknowledge the problem. But instead she waited until the patrons would ask what the hold up was. I did appreciate that there was a dedicated vegetarian section, but overall the food was sub par. Maybe we didn’t order the right things. My partner said the cheesesteak was decent but the jalapeño poppers and vegetarian burrito that I ordered didn’t impress.
Been up to Portland a bunch but never hit The Lost Bear. Went for a birthday lunch with some of my boys for a 50th. Beer selection was immense. I had Pliny the Elder! Rodeo burger was delicious. Service was great and the vibe of the joint was so cool! Can get lost in the cool decor and chill atmosphere.
The menu is huge, the food is amazing, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the service is quick. Casey M was polite, friendly, and very accommodating with our special requests at the table. Ordered the boneless wings, which come in 2 pounds. I got the sweet Thai chili. The wings are huge and enough to share. Had the pulled pork nachos. Huge portion enough for 4-5 people to share and loaded with toppings. They definitely don't skimp on anything here. They have a great selection of drinks. The restaurant is really neat. They have collected art works, old photos and have turned it into a neat gallery on the walls.
Had a great meal here. Great service, with good food. There was a wait when we got there but the were still able to seat us faster than expected. The menu had a lot of choices and their drink menu was pretty varied which is good for accommodating multiple people. Our food came out quick and was good. I was the most surprised by how good the hot sauces they had on the tables was (2 locally made sauces that were good enough for me to look them up online). Parking was a little annoying since it was a busy Friday night but there's plenty of parking nearby.
We just loved this place - the warm cozy atmosphere - the attentiveness of the staff- and the food were all excellent.Lots of wonderful craft beers too- the local Maine brews and others. We had dessert too - the chocolate cookie chip cookie pie which was a generous portion for sharing. Would definitely return when visiting again. Super busy though but the wait wasn’t too bad.
