The Great Catch by Taste of Boston - Seafood restaurant in Lutz - 1930 Land O\' Lakes Blvd, USA

12/18/2023 update - Still great! Great seafood place in a small strip mall. Service was excellent, prices were reasonable and food was as ordered and delicious. We both had the crab and it was nice and clean. Will definitely be returning.

On Jan.13, Sat.at 5 pm. We had 3 adults and 5 small children. It wasn't busy when we first got there. My husband had shrimp, and my daughter and I had salmon. The only good thing about this place is that once we got waited on, the food came out quickly. The food was blended,not much favorite, and the side sauces didn't help. The service was terrible. Our server only checked on us once, and we had to ask another server for refills. We received terrible service, and the food was not that great. When I received our over $140. bill, it was very upsetting to see they had added their own 18% gratuity, which is a choice, not a requirement. I'm retired server, and I would never have done that to a table with mostly children. Especially if I wasn't able to give by best service. Very sad. We will not be going back, and we don't and will not recommend this restaurant. Especially if you have more than 2 or 3 people. Very disappointed!!

Random lunch meet up with my family landed us here. Very happy it did. The place is just an unassuming little seafood spot in a strip mall. Very casual indoor dining room with a decent size outdoor patio seating area as well. Staff was friendly and polite. Food was well prepared, served hot, and tasted delicious! Prices were very fair, especially considering the portion sizes and overall pleasant visit. I hope to dine here more often.

Enjoyed a late lunch here and it was delicious. All-you-can-eat shrimp (3 or 4 different ways) was filling after 2 plates. Blackened sea scallops were tender and delish. Savannah, our server, was friendly and knowledgeable. We'll be back to try the lobster rolls!

Went in for the all you can eat shrimp and was blown away by the size and quality of the shrimp and the portion size in general. Service was excellent and the prices are reasonable. Will definitely be back.

My family from Ohio and I stumbled upon this restaurant unexpectedly. What an incredible find! The lobster bisque is absolutely amazing( I'm very particular about my lobster bisque, and it had the perfect amount of sherry). The calamari, haddock and grouper sandwich was delicious. Becca, our server had a very cheerful and fun personality, her timing and attention to details was refreshing. We can't wait to go back when we are out that way again! Thanks for a superb experience!

So we stopped in here based off the reviews. We are from Cleveland and travel here frequently. We knew this was like a little hole in the wall type place but thought we’d try it. At first we weren’t sure because the wait to get in looked as tho they were short handed. Once we were sat a couple other tables were sat after us were waited on before we were even acknowledged. As we were about to get up and leave, Tiffany came to our table and our experience turned around. She was super sweet and attentive despite “a bunch of staff” not coming in that evening. Our food came out quickly, was hit and super tasty. I personally got the lobster roll and was the best I’ve ever had. The husband got the crab cake sandwich and he said it was fantastic. The hush puppies and crab cake bites were delicious. And the clam chowder was really good as well. Thank you for a great last dinner in Florida before going home to Cleveland. We will definitely be back to see Tiffany and eat there.

My uncle took my family and I visiting him to this month to this restaurant tonight and it was honestly a bit underwhelming in my personal opinion. I had a bit of higher expectations on the food tonight being that I am eating, but it was just okay. I personally had better seafood in Florida from prior vacations, but this place wasn’t stellar. Food - yellow rice was way too salty and the green beans were more like average store bought can green beans. The scallops dinner I personally wanted a bit bigger and I would of paid a bit more for larger size scallops. The red snapper was tasty my family said. My uncle got the red snapper sandwich and he said it was a large portion size. Service- friendly, professional and super nice. Bathroom- my family lived the clean bathroom and great smelling soap. I would not recommend this place in my personal opinion.
