The Gifford-Risley House - Bed & breakfast in Media - 430 N Monroe St, USA

Best B&B on the planet. The property is exquisite with classic furnishings, decorations, and architecture. Stayed in the "Empire Room" and would highly recommend. The room and the adjoining bathroom are large, well appointed, comfortable, and clean. The breakfast was terrific each day. Such warm hospitality by the hosts/owners as well. Looking forward to returning soon.

We booked the entire Gifford-Risley House for family coming to town for a wedding. The bedrooms were beautiful, quiet, clean, and extremely comfortable. Monika and Z are outstanding hosts - friendly, kind, and accommodating. They arranged a charcuterie spread so we would have snacks the busy day of the wedding and had glasses & ice out for us in the evenings when we wanted to enjoy a drink together. It's an easy walk into Media for a nice variety of shops and restaurants. Breakfasts were great too! What a special place and a truly luxurious stay! This was a really fantastic experience for our family.

The Gifford-Risley House B&B was everything promised on their website and more. Located in a quiet neighborhood in Media, PA, the charming 1877 vintage gothic-revival house is beautifully appointed with period decor and each of the bedrooms furnished in a distinctive style. My wife and I stayed there in the "Empire Room" while attending a wedding in the area, and for the cost of staying at a Marriot Courtyard, we got to experience a step back in time to a more elegant era. The queen-size bed was quite comfortable and the ensuite bathroom fully modern and functional - the furnishings may be from early in the previous century, but the plumbing and electrics are quite modern. Our hosts Monika and Z were welcoming and very friendly. Our breakfast in the 'greenhouse' was delightful. Wish we had more time to enjoy the other public areas on the first floor including trying out the piano and pump organ. When we're next back in the Philly area, we definitely plan to stay here again.

We stayed in the Eastlake Room for one night. The owner, "Z", greeted us upon arrival and was just really chill - he has such a great personality. The room was clean; the bed was very comfortable; and the bathroom was spacious. We missed out on breakfast in the morning because we had to catch a very early flight at the airport; but look forward to staying again sometime. Definitely recommend staying here - a great alternative to a chain hotel, and it's in a quiet neighborhood.|

I had a fantastic time here. The decor of my room and the entire house was beautiful. Monika and Z were also perfect hosts. They are friendly, funny, accomodating and served great breakfasts. I will return.

What a wonderful surprise - I came to the area for a quick overnight stay, and am only sorry I hadn't planned a longer visit! Z and Monika are born hosts and this gorgeous inn is everything one could hope for. It's a much-needed time-out from the fast paced pressures of the day to day, each room its own little jewel box just waiting to give you a restful night's sleep. And the food! I was surprised to find I was just in time for a picture-perfect high tea served on the expansive front porch, surrounded by trees, and in the morning got a cheerful (and delicious) breakfast in the beautiful little conservatory. This spot is an absolute treasure and I cannot wait to return. All my thanks, Monika and Z! You're the best!

We live nearby and always recommend friends from out of town to stay here. You get fed breakfast and tea. A very unique experience. We make it a point to book a night here in the winters. Such a friendly atmosphere. The landscaping is always meticulous. Adds a nice touch to historic Media. I’m not sure how many rooms it has or what the maximum stay is.

A perfect bed and breakfast in a beautiful neighborhood, within easy walking distance of downtown Media. We stayed in the Renaissance Revival room and liked everything about it. The bed was comfortable and the shower easy to manage. Monika and Z were wonderful hosts and the breakfasts were absolutely delicious and unhurried. We will certainly return if we're ever in the area again.
