The Gideon Putnam - Hotel in Saratoga Springs - 24 Gideon Putnam Rd, USA

The room was clean and tidy and spacious enough for us, the beds were comfy with lots of pillows. We ate dinner at Putnam's and the food we had was great (NY Strip and Shrimp & Lobster Risotto). We also utilized the spa which was in a historic building nearby - very cool interior and friendly staff, if not the most "modern" amenities. I love that this hotel was generally quiet and peaceful, even with several events going on while we were there. And the shuttle to downtown and the racetrack was KEY! Highly Recommend.

The rooms are super clean and QUIET - I wish every hotel would have such amazing soundproofing!! Beds were comfortable with lots of pillows. Loved having access to the shuttle to downtown and the track so we didn't have to worry about driving or parking! And the bar/restaurant is great, so you don't feel like you're missing out on good food if you decide to stay in for a night.

Excellent experience. While the ratings about tired old hotel are understandable, my wife and I had a very nice stay in an upgraded room. A big shout out to Eric, very professional and courteous reception agent, and Ron the shuttle driver. We will be back. This hotel warmly contributes to a true Saratoga experience.

The location is beautiful. The hotel could really use some upgraded furniture, bathroom, hvac. We had plumbing issues that were resolved during our stay. Also one of our trash cans had not been emptied before we checked in - gross! Great location if you are going to an event at SPAC.

We had a great stay. Comfortable room. A beautiful historic pool. We love sitting in the rocking chairs and just relaxing out front. they were also very flexible with my check in and checkout times. There is also a practice putting green in the back which is a great way to kill time while waiting for my wife to get ready.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel thoroughly. The room was clean and cozy. Staff was super friendly. We enjoyed use of the Victoria pool and discount on the spa. The lobby and the grounds are beautiful. I would definitely stay here again. Only criticism would be the noisy air conditioner unit & elevator close by.

Anybody who complains about being in an old hotel should maybe read what they’re booking before they come here yes it’s old but it is very nice the renovations are awesome place has style unlike a chain hotel. I always stay in the executive suites and it’s great for the price. Not in town so quiet. The SPA here is great the golf course right there pine trees everywhere yes you can’t walk downtown but…They have shuttles that go to the track shuttles that go downtown the bar is nice. The service is great if you don’t like the Gideon you don’t need to come to Saratoga for a horse track vacation.

Located in the Saratoga state park in the middle of hiking trails and golf course. The visit was great. My wife and I were in town to go to the races and it was our first time to the Putnam. It won't be our last. From an easy to check in to checkout it was a great time. The room had 2 queen beds and was very clean and comfortable. The restaurant was excellent, the specialty cocktails were notable and the food delicious. The service was just as good as the meal, excellent. The hotel has a shuttle that runs from 7am to 11pm and will take you into town and pick you up. It was really helpful. We stayed 3 nights and we will be back and stay longer next time.
