We absolutely loved our stay, our room was beautiful and cozy with historic charm. The bed was super comfortable and it didn’t even matter that there isn’t a tv (my husband didn’t even notice lol). We knew there wouldn’t be a fridge in the room but they do have coolers that you can borrow and they’ll fill it with ice for you (no extra charge). The staff are friendly and welcoming as well as very attentive. We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant on site and both of our steaks were tender and cooked to perfection. Afterwards we relaxed on the rooftop deck and enjoyed the sunset. It was the perfect staycation.
Decided to come in for brunch. The last minute accommodation was fantastic for us. The buffet was a pleasant surprise. Didn’t realize that’s what brunch was. It was delicious and was well kept. However, the woman with a white shirt and long braid flying around with her fingers in her mouth, was rather unkind to what looked like a newly hired/trained hostess. I think purposely embarrassing someone into learning something is wild. You made yourself look awful to be honest, and I’m not sure I’ll ever return here. Those vibes were 1/10.
Wonderful place!! Delicious food. Have visited often and have brought others due to the delicious food. |Beautifully renovated and wonderful staff. Highly recommend a visit. Get the mussels if they offer them again this summer. |Going tonight to celebrate the spouse’s birthday. Looking forward to it as always.
We wanted to love this inn because of its historic buildings, restoration, great food in the tavern, and excellent service. Unfortunately, the room we stayed in was very small and dark. It was in the historic part of the building and there was little room from the walls for the queen-size bed. The lighting was limited and there were no amenities like a tv or water glasses in the room, other than free wifi. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable which made the room adequate but not a great value for the price.
Our dinner last night at the historic General Stanton Inn was absolutely wonderful! We sat in the classic and very charming New England style tavern area over by the beautiful stone fireplace! The staff and the owner are super friendly and welcoming! We were a party of 4 and everyone loved their meal! Two of us ordered the Braised Short Ribs served with mashed potatoes and broccolini. They were fantastic- right up there as the best short ribs I have ever had! This is one of my favorite dishes so I have ordered them at a lot of different restaurants! The two other people we were with ordered the Bolognese and the Stanton Sirloin . Both said their meals were delicious! For dessert, two of us ordered the Chocolate Chip Skillet dessert which was SO GOOD and two people had the Salted Caramel Gelato! As an added bonus before we left, Kevin, the restaurant manager, kindly gave us a tour of the other historic dining rooms on site and a little bit of history on each room and some of the visitors that stayed and dined here, from George Washington to Al Capone. I highly recommend this place! I think the friendly staff, delicious food, and great overall vibe make it a must-visit spot if you have not yet been to the General Stanton Inn!
Nice place, old and historic. Rooms were clean and well kept. There are no TVs in the rooms however. So if you want to check the news use your phone, bring a book as other than sleep there really is nothing to do when in your room. The food in the restaurant was great and priced accordingly.
Nikki and Kevin are fantastic!!! Great food and drinks. When your looking for a fun place and atmosphere swing by. Family friendly and great personality Employees that work there. It's a must stop by
We had brunch in the restaurant, and we were very disappointed. Choices were limited and quality was fair-poor. It was expensive for what was offered. Staff were very nice and attentive which was a plus. Inn looks charming but we only went for brunch.
