the friendly toast is a fun little brunch spot. our only complaint is that we made reservations, got a message asking us to come early because the line was moving quickly, then ended up waiting outside in the blistering cold for 20 minutes. aside from that, the food was phenomenal. we loved the mimosa flight. we got the “some like it tot” and oh my goodness, i have never been that delighted in my life. the hash quiche was also PHENOMENAL. they were very accommodating in making both orders without bacon! my boyfriend enjoyed the chicken and waffles, he said they were very good and ate them up entirely. our server jhon made our experience very enjoyable.
A really cool atmosphere. Love all of the memorabilia and the 80s music they had going on was fun. Food was not bad, interesting ideas for some of the menu. Good service. I really love the fact you could monitor your reservation online as we had over an hour wait and hung out at our hotel (instead of waiting in the rain) until it was closer to time for our reservation to be seated. Great raspberry mimosa! Thanks to our server Nicole for the recommendation!
Great little place to go for breakfast! The food is delicious, great mimosas, and plenty of Gluten free and vegan options. Sam, our waitress, was in my opinion one of the best servers I’ve ever had. Period. She was friendly and bubbly, making the experience even better! 10/10 recommend this place!
A wonderful little hole in the wall place with great nostalgic decor and delicious food! If you're going for weekend Brunch, get here early because the place fills up quickly and rightly so for the excellent drinks, service and menu. I recommend the Chicken Cordon Bleu Benny (pictured below); absolutely outstanding flavor! If you're looking for a great breakfast/brunch spot, The Friendly Toast is it!
We found this place off of google looking for somewhere local to check out! Oh my gosh let me tell you worth the wait if you love brunch. Their current seasonal menu has two dishes worthy to check out the pumpkin waffle and chef Ingrid’s Panino Al Prosciutto
I've been putting off trying The Friendly Toast because I know the line can get quite long, but today I finally decided to go. Luckily, I was able to get a table right away on a Tuesday morning (there was a line once I left, so I guess 9 AM is a good time). The entrance is pretty cool, and the inside is even cooler. It has a very retro, colorful, and classic diner vibe. Lots of interesting decor to look at while you wait. Despite the bar, it seems like a family-friendly place. My friend got the French toast with strawberries, I got the chicken and waffles, and we shared the churro bites. - Churro Bites: These aren't churros; they're more like a doughnut that was cut up into bite-size pieces. It tastes as though the dough was deep fried multiple times until it got a brittle, dry texture. It wasn't bad per say, but change your expectations if you are hoping for a traditional churro. This appetizer also comes with a strawberry sauce that has a subtle kick to it. - French Toast with Strawberries: Originally, my friend was going to order a fruit salad, as the menu didn't state that it came with any toppings. Our server told us that she could add strawberries if wanted. We were charged $3 for the strawberries and learned afterward that there is already a Highway Strawberry menu item that is French toast with strawberries for cheaper, which our server failed to mention. Taste wise, this dish was what you would expect; nothing special overall. - Chicken and Waffles: The chicken was very thin and dry. I liked the poblano corn and jalapeno jack cheese filling for the waffles, but the waffles themselves were not fluffy or moist and tasted more like store-bought pancake mix. We were disappointed with the food, as it didn't live up to the hype. I'd say the ambiance is more so what you would come for, since it is unique. However, I didn't like how tiny our table was because it made eating difficult, and our server was a bit rude. It felt like he didn't want to take our order/was rushing to get us out the door. I don't think I would come back.
This morning while watching the phantom gourmet show, they had Friendly Toast segment on. They showed the Some Like It Tot Golden fried cheddar stuffed jumbo tots with VT cheddar cheese sauce, caramelized onions, crumbled bacon, sriracha glaze & scallions. And the Brunch-Burg-Right-Ahead the house patty with cheddar cheese, Everything Bagel aioli, smashed cheddar tots, an over easy egg, arugula, caramelized onions & crumbled bacon. Served with waffle fries & a Grillo's pickle. It looks so good I had to try it! So I ordered it for lunch today 12/17/23 around 12pm. I was NOT disappointed tots were delicious and very cheesy very satisfying. The burger was so so so delicious the bun was fresh and cheddar tots and the over easy egg and caramelized onions & bacon the combination of flavors were great! Truly an AWESOME BURGER! The waffle fries crispy and lightly seasoning not too salty and crispy on the outside with a nice crunch delicious!
Eclectic and cute restaurant. Perfect place to grab brunch with friends or family! Our server was very nice. I highly recommend the breakfast burrito with chorizo and the appetizer sampler. The churro bites were delicious along with the breakfast egg rolls!
I never thought I'd enjoy rowing, especially in a class workout setting since I love working out by myself and doing my own thing. But this has been such a pleasant surprise and I love it!! The instructors are great (all women, woo!) and it's been so
