The Friendly Bar is a really great New Orleans dive bar, with great service and good drinks. I do not believe they serve any food other than chips and such but it is a great spot to have a few beers or cocktails. The staff is very friendly and the drinks are very reasonable. More locals and repeat customers but there are also a fair amount of tourists as well. Truly a friendly bar.
Found it by accident and came back a few times after that. Real nice atmosphere and service. It is really a friendly place :)
Lolol renaming this place Unfriendly Bar. Normally I have a great time and bartenders are cool. However the manager just screamed at the top of her lungs for us to leave the door open when we courteously closed it bc the temperature is below 40 degrees. Don't mind whatever you want to do with your space but be a normal human and ask nicely? Not gonna spend money with someone who feels so at ease being verbally abusive - I can only imagine how she speaks to employees if she spoke to a whole krewe of paying and tipping customers that way. Bye!
Scott is awesome. Drinks are cheap and good. Atmosphere? It's ok. Go for Scott, he's aw.
I might be kicked out of the neighborhood and forced to become straight for saying this- but, I don't get why this bar is so locally beloved. The bartender was polite, the patrons seemed welcoming, but that's about the end of nice things to say. Water was dripping on me sat at the bar from a hole in the ceiling, the place hadn't seen a coat of paint in years, someone was passed out on a table outside (it was 2pm), and there was a vinegary smell to the place. We ordered two white wines (seems normal for a gay bar) and were informed that it was only one brand of mini-bottles of wine. I mean, I'm not clutching my pearls on that, but every other local dive bar at least has a bottle of wine that they'll pour. Again, vs the local alternatives that are equally divey, but put a little effort in to keep things clean and offer more than the absolute-bare-minimum. I'm glad so many people love this place and it's special to them, but for me, they really should shut the place down for a week, patch some holes, scrub the floors, throw on some paint, and rework the bar program a little (just a little, stay low key!)
You guys were awesome! I enjoyed my time at the Friendly Bar above anything else I did while in New Orleans Thank you
Name says it all - friendly bar! Great place to stop for cold beer fresh off the ice.

The best bar in new Orleans if you want to meet the locals. No frills, good beer, great company. Little place that's been running for 4 generations. Just pop in and chat
Was lucky to attend a pre-wedding party here. The atmosphere was awesome, with Halloween theme in the courtyard. The bartenders were fabulous, made a perfect Seabreeze.
Our waitress, Casey I believe her name was, was wonderful. Quick yo refill drinks, super friendly and professional. The atmosphere was awesome. Looks like an old bathhouse of some sort. Lots of comfortable chairs and nooks, gaming tables, decent cig
We came with our kids Thanksgiving evening for drinks/appetizer and live music. It is gorgeous inside. Even the 12 and 16yo were impressed. It made for a special evening. Fries were delicious and generous serving to share. It's pricey but that is to
what a fun dive bar this place is! i loved all the saturn-related jokes and decor around the place as well. we were here during a live piano performance and had a grand time soaking in the musical experience while sipping on our beers and ciders.
We were a little over bourbon street and wanted a chill bar - no frills, just good drinks, a little food to snack on and a vibe. This was the place. Jalapeno cheese curds were fresh and addictive - highly recommend. Our bartender was so chill and do
So Iâm not a fan of malort, but the pumpkin flavor they do for fall is pretty fantastic. Great locals bar with a good dive bar atmosphere and drinks.
Wondering around and found this spot. Very cool place for drinks. Came for happy hour. If you're in town it's worth the trip. Great beer selection and dog friendly.
Go get your fill of some serious local music, get there early for the Tuesday 6 PM show it's the one that will least likely have a line if you get there 15 minutes early. $20 gets you in, cash or card. Its mostly stand only with perhaps a dozen chair

This was one of my favorite museums during my visit. I learned so much. Didn't know about the free People of Color in Louisiana. Imagine if they had been allowed to thrive... how different America would be today.
Great class and I definitely recommend!! Stopped in as a ClassPass user and will definitely make this a regular workout. The class size was smaller than Iâm used to at 11 but the space was very homey and accommodating. The instructor was clear and
