The Frenchmen Hotel - Featured Reviews (361)
My husband and I were traveling to NOLA for work and wanted to stay somewhere somewhat close to the action but not in the middle. This location was perfect, close to the Spotted Cat & Ayu Bakehouse which we really enjoyed. We enjoyed the pool in the evenings and never had a problem with noise, but we were in an upstairs room above the pool. Check-in was easy, Taylor was so helpful in letting us keep our bags in the lobby when we checked out until it was time to leave, and we would absolutely stay here again!
Pour un weekend entre détente et découverte cet hôtel est parfait. Très bien localisé au début de french men street cet hôtel est plein de charme avec piscine et authenticité. Calme et avec un bon accueil je recommande sans hésitation de venir passé ici quelques nuit
This hotel is perfect for New Orleans. And, I had the perfect room; room 200, with an incredible covered balcony overlooking all the action on Frenchmen St, a super comfy queen bed, refreshing A/C, and great shower. This is the room to request for you, or you and your honey. Let's also not forget the refreshing pool and amazing hot tub (with late hours!), friendly staff, and attached Tiki Bar with a great laid back atmosphere and amazing drinks. As far as volume goes, the action on Frenchmen goes on all night, especially on weekends, but earplugs are provided; I had no problems sleeping. Rooms towards the back of the property are much quieter I'm sure, and to be honest, I have had more problems with noise at other hotels where the guests were the ones causing all the commotion. This hotel was everything you could wish for in a fun New Orleans stay. What's not to love?
Nice little boutique hotel (think "updated motel") at a compelling price and in a very convenient location on Frenchmen Street, at the nexus of the French Quarter, Marigny, and the Bywater. Staff were helpful, friendly, and polite.
Note 1: it will be very loud due to the bands, bars, and traffic on the street. I used ear plugs (which they provide) and I was fine, but I'm a heavy sleeper. It didn't bother me, but I know people who would be.
Note 2: The room was musty smelling when I arrived, but clean and comfortable. Propping the door open for a couple hours while I worked and running the ceiling fan at a gentle speed seemed to fix it.
Placarded as a Historical location by the Department of the Interior, this hidden gem is nestled just off Bourbon Street. In this up and coming location, it is right across from the Fire Station #9 on Frenchmen Street. Quaint, sometimes a bit quirky, this is a locale that you need to experience. It screams NOLA with a bit of modern charm. Don't expect to find parking easily here. DO expect to be close to most everything you would expect from the French Quarter and more. Ride in, check in, unload, and take your personal vehicle to a long term parking lot away from the Quarter that's a bit safer and monitored. Uber/Lyft back.
That's just a fact. You'll be in walking distance of most everything you need to see and experience. NOLA barely sleeps, so expect plenty of noise from the locals into the wee hours of the night and morning. Free earplugs in the hotel lobby, be sure to grab a set if you're a light sleeper. Remember, you don't visit NOLA unless you plan to party a bit, you're almost expected to. The Frenchmen Hotel is a great little hotel with simple and pleasant amenities to make your stay enjoyable. Small pool, hot tub, bar and occasional live entertainment keeps you in for a bit, but GET OUT and enjoy the entire experience. It's not a Ritz or Four Seasons, but you don't stay in NOLA to be pampered. You come to enjoy the people, the music, and the food. For a great tour guide in the Quarter, Yah Yah Universe is the QUEEN of spooky and supernatural (not what you'd think). Have a blast and be sure to stay at the Frenchmen on your next visit to NOLA!!!
Love love love this hotel!!!! Such old world charm but luxurious! The staff was so lovely! We got there 7am and were going to leave our luggage but they offered us an upgrade and we were able to check right in and nap! The tiki bar is AWESOME! And the hot tub is nice after walking all day. It really feels like you’re in Europe. Will definitely stay there again!
Rooms are beautiful but THE FLOOR IS SO NASTY I WASHED MY FEET BEFORE BED AND ENDED UP HAVING TO WEAR SOCKS ANYTIME I GOT UP TO WALK AROUND!!!
Needs moped bad but was vacuumed!!!
Ugh
The pictures do not do this place justice! It is beyond adorable and eclectic! There’s a charming blend of modern and classic in the decor and art work. The beds are so soft with really good linens and pillows. The service staff is beyond amazing! They were able to check us in early which was great because we needed a nap. They have an amazing tiki bar with classic drinks and a rooftop patio. The location is perfect! It’s on the south end of Frenchman (live music) and a short walk to the main drag and Jackson Square. You really feel a part of the city! We’re already planning to come back!
We had such a wonderful time staying at The Inn. We were greeted by our wonderful host⦠I mean warden. Todd was great and walked us around the jail, showing us where everything was. He had great suggestions for where to eat and shop. The kitchen ha
The executive king room is amazing, like having our own apartment right in the heart of the French quarter. Very clean. Great hotel staff. Easy to walk everywhere. My only complaints would be the water pressure is non-existent, but I imagine with old
