Went here for chocolate fest. Thought chocolate fest would be like every kind of chocolate but it was just private vendors selling there items and had some bite size chocolates to eat. Was still fun and stopped in the ice cream shop and had blueberry waffle cone. It was so good!

We had our daughters wedding there this past weekend and was the worst thing I've ever seen in a wedding! Everything started out ok until it was time for the meal after practice night. Bartender where the music was playing was very rude because she had to go downstairs to get a drink. Another guest asked for a spotted cow and was told they didn't have it. After she was told that it was right there she said she'll have to look. She was mad and not waiting on customers. The following day after the ceremony it came time to eat and had the worst meal ever!!|The couple ordered tips and chicken for 151 guest. 25- 30 guest did not get the meal. Tips and chicken were both so dry I left it on my plate. One worker said, 30 lbs of tips is 30 lbs of tips. Father of the bride waited a little bit to get a plate. Came back with a little piece of chicken small salad hard beans and some carrots. I have never experienced anything like this in my life!! Although the rooms were nice I would not recommend this for a wedding! Very very disorganized. Even when it came to making reservations it was a nightmare! One person could call and able to book 1 night. Another would call and be told 2 night minium!! Very poorly organized. I believe I'll never go back!!|- Mother of the Bride-

Room was clean, staff were great, food really sucked. For a bar and grill, you would think they had good food...not! Day 1, nachos, consisted of chips some ground beef, cheese sauce and black olives...really? Like you couldn't throw atleast some onions on it? Pizza was not cooked. Day 2, boneless wings...cold, the minute they were served. All in all, rooms were nice and staff were awesome! Just don't come here to eat.

Our suite was great, spacious, and very clean. Boundary Waters was good place to watch Packers game. Disappointed that the fine dining restaurant is no longer open as we were there celebrating our wedding anniversary so pizza it was! Enjoyed a walk around the property. Will visit again.

To begin, run don’t walk away from this place! My two brothers and I had been here several years ago and this was when there was a full restaurant and bar on the first floor. Then it was good food and fun. Now, it was very different. The full restaurant and bar were closed. The first floor was mostly deserted. We ran into a worker who directed us downstairs to a small basement sports bar with a low ceiling. It as Friday, around 5:50 pm. The place was full and when we got to the bar to order we ask d how long the wait would be. The guy said he didn’t know, even when we asked if it was 1 hour or two. He took our drink orders. I ordered a crown royal on the rocks with olives. My brother ordered the same. The guy brought us some sort of whiskey and Pepsi. A small pint of beer (domestic) was $6.00 - high price. When we finally got a table, the previous order was never bussed - I mean, the whole time we sat there! I ordered off the menu - a 6 piece perch dinner with fries and baked beans - cost? $21.00. All three of us ordered the same. About 45 minutes later a harassed looking young woman brought the food. We had to ask her for silverware since none was provided. I looked at my order and saw 5 small, dry pieces of heavily deep fried perch. A half piece of marble rye ( dry) came with it and a three ounce cup of canned baked beans. I asked the server where my sixth piece of perch was and she said: I can ask but the cook will be mad at me. A few minutes before we left she showed up with five extra pieces - in the same condition. We won’t be back.

We attended a family wedding and after being in the business for many years, were totally disappointed. The bartenders in the lower bar were fighting and swearing at each other and throwing garnishes at each other. They were very rude to customers. When we went through the buffet for dinner it wasn’t kept up very well. The salad bowls were empty, and when the bride told us she ordered mashed potatoes and they had a breakfast potato. When the chicken was low they didn’t have any in the hot box in the buffet room, they had to run back to the other room to get it. They also had gravy which was no use because of no mashed potatoes. The dinner rolls could have been used for chew toys they were so tough. The last 25 people didn’t get any beef tips because they ran out. When we went back into the buffet room to take some pictures I saw that the baked chicken had run out and there was some kind of boneless chicken breast that was all dried out in a pan for the last few people. This was the worst food I ever had at a wedding.

Service was a bit slow, as it was very busy & short handed, like most food establishment these days but when bartender finally showed...she had been upstairs getting a food order, she was friendly & efficient. Started a conversation with nice couple on deck who shared some of the history. I enjoyed this hidden gem for an afternoon visit.

The booking process was a nightmare. I tried multiple times on the website and it kept saying the credit card is invalid, although it's just a regular Visa (and worked fine when eventually I was booked). After 3 calls to the front desk, a staff member booked it directly for me. Then, she sent the confirmation by e-mail. Except I never received a confirmation. I looked in the Spam, as advised, nothing. Over the next few days I received e-mails in my inbox saying I never completed my reservation. I didn't want to assume this to be true or false, so I called the front desk. I called probably 20x. Each time I pressed "1" for the front desk I was sent to Zack in Accounting. If I pressed the number for booking a room, I was disconnected completely. Desperate to know if my stay was booked (because it was in just a few days by now), I left a message for Zach in Accounting. No call back. I found an e-mail address and sent a full description of the issue. No e-mail back. Finally after all these attempts over several days I called again, using the transfer to the front desk and I finally got someone! She confirmed my room was booked and resent the confirmation.I never received a confirmation, yet was still getting the e-mails about finishing the booking. She seemed aware of the calls transfering to Zack in Accounting and said she's the one who checks that voicemail. It was all immensely frustrating, especially since no one returned my messages. When we arrived for our stay it was ok, at best. This seems to be a basic 2 star hotel hiding behind the word "resort" due to the amenities. The hotel room was clean, which was immensely appreciated. However,we must have been staying on party weekend.A large family group above our room was loud way beyond 11pm. Every time we went outside from arrival it smelled like cigarette smoke. Just not a "resort" experience. Also, the complimentary breakfast was equivalent to a Microtel. I'm not one to complain, it's just that this is not the experience my money bought me.

What an amazingly beautiful place to visit and experience. We definitely enjoyed the rock climbing and the scenery is absolutely breath taking.
