I love that this is a small family restaurant. I always get the Chicago dogs and have almost always been happy with them (1 time the hot dogs were cold in the center but only once out of many visits). The French fries on the other hand are always way dark and unseasoned. By the time you get the fries they are too cool to hold any salt. I suggest that they start seasoning their fries and let people ask for unsalted... even salted I would still take pause with the fries because they're brown not golden. The Chicago dogs are AMAZING and keep me coming back. If you are looking for a cozy date and have $12 for 2 dogs fries and a soda you might want to check out this hidden little gem. We always score the video game table for a little retro bonding.

Now, every time I go to this place, I always get the hot dog with fries. Not only is it inexpensive, but it's Chicago-styled and for a woman that is originally from there, they achieve the Chicago Hot Dog perfectly. I tried the gyro today and it is as delicious as it looks. I asked for more sauce and less onions. The owner never disappoints me! The customer service is great and they take their time with making sure everything is done right! Will forever come back here for some good comfort, Chicago-style food 10 out of 10!

Such a fun spot, great food, friendly staff. Our new go-to for lunch on roudtrips south. Especially liked the Chicago dog, fries, and cream soda. Hooray for hot and mild giardiniera options!

Small Cedar Rapids business that has survived many storms in it's long history and well worth your support! They have an awesome Chicago dog, Italian sausage, homemade desserts and much more! Great lunch spot! Best Chicago dogs around. Fun decor and an interesting place to bring the kids. Small dining room, but there is outdoor seating as well. Can get busy during the lunch rush. The double-play lunch special is my go-to; Two Chicago dogs with fresh-cut fries and a drink.

Tables were dirty even though we were the only customers. The cleanest table was right under a heat vent that constantly blew on my face, making eating very uncomfortable. Food portions were small for the price and was charged extra for condiments that would normally come with the food.

Everything here is delicious. It is a Cedar Rapids staple and iconic location with the airplane on the roof and airplane decorations throughout the inside. They have fantastic hot dogs, gyros, burgers and appetizers. The French fries are unique and tasty as well. What a great place to eat, especially on a nice day outside sitting on their outdoor patio in the front. I definitely recommend having lunch here.
