This is the 2nd time my husband and I have visited the Floridian. Both times it has blown us away. But this visit was highlighted even more so because of the wonderful service from our server Doug! He was incredibly attentive and had the perfect suggestions. But what really stood out was when I was casually telling him about a drink I had ordered last year during our visit. I had actually taken a photo of the drink from the menu and showed it to him. He said they were actually about to bring that drink back the following week. I assumed I just barely missed it. But when he came back he had already spoken to the bartender and asked if they’d be able to make me one during our visit. He was an absolute delight. The food was phenomenal as we remembered it to be. Highly highly recommend the “Biscuit and Belly!” This is becoming a staple for our visits from Orlando. The food, staff and atmosphere are so wonderful and unique!
We went on busy Saturday night but enjoyed drinks from the bar upstairs while we waited and ended up eating at the bar when space opened up. The food was delicious, and the service was top notch. Highly recommend this local gem.
Stopped in for dinner and had a few drinks, appetizers, and the chicken sandwich. Staff was very friendly and the service was fast. Food and drinks were underwhelming. Fried green tomatoes were under breaded and not very crispy. Tomato soup was watery and bland. Chicken sandwich was cooked well and had decent flavors, but nothing to come back for. Overall, okay food and good service for a casual fast paced diner type environment.
We dined at The Floridian on a busy Friday night, and our foresight to make online reservations proved wise. The restaurant was bustling, with walk-ins being turned away due to the crowd. "We originally booked an indoor table but, upon arrival, asked if we could sit outside. The staff accommodated our request and seated us at a comfortable outdoor table under a heat lamp. This thoughtful arrangement allowed us to enjoy the fresh air of the cool 62°F evening without sacrificing warmth, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere for our meal. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the food. We found the menu to be refreshingly health-conscious, with fresh ingredients featured prominently. Our choices for the evening, the Chicken Golden Curry and the Beef Brisket Tacos, were shared between us. Both dishes were a delight, bursting with great flavors and perfectly portioned for sharing. What stood out, apart from the delicious food, was the quick and efficient service. Despite the restaurant's evident popularity that night, our meal was served promptly, adding to the overall positive experience. The ambiance of The Floridian deserves a special mention. It struck a fine balance between lively and comfortable, contributing to a fantastic dining experience.
The upstairs bartender was so friendly and helpful not to mention making 4 craft cocktails quick while we waited for our reservation. We sat in main dining room and was quickly greeted by a loud, abrasive waitress w/ a mask on so hard to hear in an active restaurant. Anyway, the fried green tomatoes were light and had homemade ricotta w/ buttermilk ranch, very tasty. Our friends ordered the pickled shrimp and raved about the toasted bread to compliment. I highly recommend ordering the meatloaf sandwich and add pimento cheese, outstanding. We also had the cornbread panzanella salad, I was hoping for more of a traditional version, instead of arugula. It was tasty just wouldn’t order again. While visiting, I’d definitely stop in again, check it out.
Let’s say if you visit St. Augustine The Floridian is must to eat for lunch and/ or dinner. A great outdoor seating and welcoming service/inside seating as well. What was great that they have many options you can make gluten free. We started off with chips/veggies and dips adding pimento cheese. The dips are black bean poblano dip, chickpea hummus and pimento cheese; these dips is the best I ever had and I definitely ate it with my main entree. For my main entree, I ordered the shrimp banh mi po boy which has the freshness of a banh mi, shrimp flavored as a po boy and well toasted bread to top it all off. Also, ordered the Bay of Pigs w/ gluten free bread, the pork was flavorful and rich and the bread wasn’t like normal gf bread, where it falls apart. Even though we were full we had to make our stomach explode with a warm gluten free brownie with caramel drizzle and whip cream that also exploded my taste buds; to think it was flourless is impressive.
The food was excellent. The place was busy, but our server didn't skip a beat. Drinks came quick as well as the food. I would definitely eat here again.
Absolutely delicious food! One of our favorite restaurants downtown. The Autumn Grain Bowl with chicken, the shrimp n grits (served with more like a corncake), curry kale vegetable soup, tacos, chocolate peanut butter cheesecake, and gluten free chocolate brownie were all divine. Look forward to going back every time!

Great little spot. Stopped in for my first time and had the Asada Bowl. Solid little bite of food, I must say. Good choice of hot sauces for the dips. The staff was very personal and welcoming.
Super friendly staff welcoming us dropping in from out of town. Facility is really clean and I loved having the open gym hours available for us to do whatever we wanted. Love the high ropes! Also very clean.
