The Flamingo Motel - Motel in San Jose - 1084 The Alameda, USA

I thought for sure I reviewed last year, but maybe I didn’t. We’ve stayed at a lot of hotels and motels in San Jose over the years, and this is the first one that I’ve made a point to stay at a second time. Even though it’s a little drive away from the convention center, it’s still been well worth staying at. Extremely reasonable price considering the busy holiday weekend, safe and clean. The proprietors are super nice and personable, which is always something I look out for. This weekend they were getting roof work done, and the owner(?) made a point to check in with us to let us know, and also check in with us about it afterwards. Super considerate. Plus there’s neon, which is always a big plus for me!! I admit that’s what convinced me to book here to begin with.

We were completely happy with the wonderful room & the proprietors were great too! The location was very strategic & and short walk to many restaurants & also close to the Amtrak station and also quick easy access to the highway to get to the airport.

There was some initial confusion regarding an early check in that I had called in about, but it was resolved without too much trouble. Rooms were simple, but clean, and overall nothing to really complain about. Definitely good value for the price.

This hotel offers bang for the buck. We stayed there to be close to SAP arena as its only a 15 minute walk away and they offer free parking. Plus they are within driving distance of other sites you may want to see. Carmel is an hour away, San Francisco is an hour away in the opposite direction. The hotel is clean and in a decent neighborhood. If I had go back to San Jose - I'd stay there again.

Very accommodating and within walking distance to SAP Center, 15 mins and about 30 mins to SJSU and San Pedro Square. Very quaint and fun place to stay, comfortable and the free parking is a selling point, as its hard to find street parking anywhere in the bay area!! I highly recommend

I wish they noted that heavy construction is going on next door, not a cool wake-up... Other than that, best bang for the buck, surprisingly clean.

I gotta say I was extremely disappointed. I checked in to my room late after a long day at the airport and to my surprise the bathroom was not cleaned. There was a brown stain on the toilet lid and hair under the lid and on top of the toilet. I also later found a rag that had short black hairs on it hanging off the curtain rod when I went to shower. I think they completely missed cleaning my room. I also was annoyed because I booked a one king size bedroom and when I got there the man upfront said there was a mix up so I was gonna have to stay in a two queen bedroom. It’s not cool when you pay and can’t even relax because your room is filthy. I went to make coffee in the morning and the inside of the coffee pot was gross and clearly wasn’t cleaned for a while. I will say the man at the front desk did come and clean up for me but didn’t really do anything besides apologize and blame it on the new maid. It was weird to have someone in your room cleaning in the middle of the night. I would have to say the only thing good was the location.

Positive: Nice quiet area, great coffee shops across, good Mexican restaurant next to hotel, bus going to downtown, little clean hotel with comfy bed, nice helpful staff. Will stay again. Negative: room décor a bit outdated, but didn't mind Negative: ""
