Don't let the old look of the place and the carpet in the dining area lose your interest. The carpet almost lost mine. I'm not a fan of carpet in the dining area. If you can get past that the meals were nicely presented and deliciously served! I enjoyed my salmon paired with flavorful vegetables that were cooked perfectly. Friends had some pasta dishes paired with seafood and chicken. All enjoyed their meal. Definitely would recommend it! It mimics a northern Maine old style vibe.
The service was great and efficient. Food was excellent (our party of three had salmon, calamari and ravioli - all very good.
We were there for dinner and stopped by around 7pm on a Sunday. The location is not far from Highway 1, so it's a worthwhile stop when we're in the area.
A Seafood Lover's Dream at Fish House Bar and Grill! 🐟🍹
What a delightful culinary experience we had at the Fish House Bar and Grill in Watsonville! It was our first visit and we were simply blown away.
Our server was an absolute star. Engaging, attentive, and full of great menu recommendations. But what truly stole the show was the food - every bite was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
If you're a seafood lover like me, you cannot miss their sand dabs. Perfectly cooked, delicately flavored, they were an absolute delight. We also tried the crab-stuffed ravioli - a dish so decadently delicious, it's sure to win over even the most discerning palates.
And let's not forget about the drinks! They offer a full bar, catering to all tastes. We opted for the Moscow Mule, and boy, they nailed it! Refreshing with just the right kick - a perfect pairing to our seafood feast.
Fish House Bar and Grill now holds a special place in my gastronomic heart. So whether you're a local or just passing through Watsonville, do yourself a favor and pay a visit to this place. I'm already looking forward to our next trip back when we are in the area again. 5 stars aren't enough for the delight that this restaurant offers!
We had 12 in our group of 3 generations and every single one thought their meal was fantastic! The menu had wonderful seafood choices that we tried, but also other items too. The atmosphere was lively and casual.
The food was very institutionalized. It was like eating from a college cafeteria or a retirement home. The staff refused to seat our party until everyone arrived, even though the restaurant was completely empty, no one at all. When we requested to talk with the manager, before our food was served, when we thought we would like to throw a party at the restaurant, the manager sent a post-it wanting our details rather than talking to us. Three plates went back filled with food, and no one asked why (food was not good). Wish we could have had a different take. We had high hopes for a good meal. The bus staff was great and the waiter was good, which was the 3 stars, as for the rest of the staff, management and cooks, subpar.
We stayed in the area for a week. After reading the reviews, we decided to have dinner at this restaurant.
Honestly, I don't know who writes all those reviews and if any information can be trusted.
First, it took them forever to get the order even though the restaurant was almost empty.
Then, it took forever to prepare the food.
About the food: I ordered crab ravioli. The order came on a large plate with a lot of reddish sauce covering the pasta. I assumed it was crab ravioli. It could be any other pasta because I could only taste the sauce. Plus, the filling in ravioli was barely noticeable. Again, they could have named it anything. It would still be impossible to tell the difference. (Returning to the reviews: ravioli was mentioned a few times in the reviews!! I can’t imagine anybody honestly liking it.)
Then, it took more than forever to get a check! We asked a few times a few people but were just ignored. Finally, after a really long wait, a busboy brought the check. Our server was chatting with someone.
In addition, there is an ambiance of an old and worn-out place and quite steep prices for the quality of the food. I strongly recommend avoiding this place. There are a lot of other choices in the area.
ALWAYS A GREAT MEAL!Food was really tasty. Good portion size. Friendly customer service.
We love coming to eat here when we happen to be in Watsonville. The food is delicious, and everyone here is so friendly.
