The Fin Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton - Featured Reviews (349)
The Fin has become my go to for visiting our son at Camp Pendleton. Centrally located, historic and cozy with a great, all day, restaurant and coffee shop attached. It’s a great place to be if you don’t have access to a car. Rooms are modern, clean and comfortable, many are on the small side so maybe not ideal for families but no worries for single or a couple. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Coffee shop donuts are made in house and to die for- I don’t like donuts much but i struggled not to order more of these. Menu is small, eclectic and very well executed. Bar is a great place for a cocktail or drink on your way to or from dinner. Ok, the small team isn’t perfect- we ran out of TP but ultimately that’s minor thing. Stay here for the right reasons and you won’t be disappointed- highly recommended properly.
Came to the Fin to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We immediately loved the vibe of the hotel. Great lobby, awesome restaurant and fabulous coffee shop all on the premises. Every employee we came in contact with was fantastic. Five stars for the customer service. The rooms are well appointed. My wife and I will be back soon.
It’s a clean, safe hotel. Definitely very small for the $300 + $25 parking I paid on a week day and the lobby area is very humid. But overall, it was clean and the girl at the front desk was very kind and allowed me to check in 2 hours early. Good area close to everything also.
We had a mixed experience with the room, but the manager's receptiveness and help was so exceptional that I feel like anything less than five stars would be a disservice.
We were on the bottom floor and the room itself was quite nice. It was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the robes/sandals were a nice touch. However, the musty odor was overwhelming in our room. Maybe it was related to being on the bottom floor, record rains the Oceanside area had recently experienced, or specific to that room because the hotel was booked up. Regardless, the smell was unbearable for us.
The staff was kind, responsive, and connected us with the manager to discuss options. The manager was receptive and very friendly. He navigated us through the options to address the issue and identified a positive outcome. The manager transformed what could have been a poor vacation memory into a positive experience.
My recent stay at Fin Hotel could very well have made my Top 5 list of Hilton stays. This little hotel is a delightful mix of hospitality and modern charm packed into 1920s sized rooms. Expect to be cozy and comfortable! The manager and staff were all very kind and helpful and made my stay perfect. I highly recommend the adjacent restaurant and coffee shop too!
The pillows and bed were very comfortable; the shower was very nice; the room was quiet; the lobby lovely; the restaurant and coffee shop superb; the robes and slippers and towels thoughtfully provided; and the soaps and lotions were quality. The room, linens and towels were squeaky clean: it is the cleanest Hilton hotel I have stayed at in a long while.
The Fin Hotel staff clearly valued the customer and the quality of the experience for their guests. It was refreshing.
This is a super-cute, boutique hotel -- friendly and helpful staff. Very close to the train station and only a couple of blocks from the pier/ocean.||If you are travelling with minimal luggage, there is a laundry about 10-minute walk from the hotel. In the same direction, if you keep walking for another 20-minutes, there are a series of antique / warehouse / charity shops, and a great little cheap pizza/beer place.||Hotel is also close to several restaurants, pubs and a pharmacy. We enjoyed the red ale at the nearby Flying Pig.||Room was very clean and larger than a lot of the other reviewers led me to believe. While this was the most expensive hotel of our trip, it was *much* cheaper than the hotels on the oceanfront, or a block back from the ocean. Oceanside is an expensive town.||We had breakfast in the onsite restaurant and the staff/food was amazing.||Despite the June gloom, we had a pleasant and restful stay. The Fin had a nice vibe. |On checking out, we had a lovely chat with the Manager and talked about football and cricket -- thanks again!
Booked a trip to Oceanside and decided to go with this cute little hotel. It’s in a great location, walkable to many different restaurants And about 10 minutes from the beach. Booked online, but when I came in, I had forgotten a couple things and the check-in host was Friendly and helped accommodate us. I also get very cold at night, they were Very kind and provided us with a portable heater. 10 out of 10 would definitely be back.
Super clean room, easy walk to everything. Off street parking for an add on, but there is plenty of parking just a 2min walk from the transit center. |It made for an excellent romantic date night, walking to shops dinner and a movie. Oh and the bed was comfy. The shower had plenty of hot water too.

Fantastic beer tasting room. They have 20 plus beers on tap and dozens more in bottle. A real locals hang where the crowd is relaxed and conversation is lively. Located right off the 76 across from the Oceanside airport. Parking is a bit limited.
