The Farm Kitchen - Family restaurant in Shelbyville - 6562 Frankfort Rd, USA

I just can’t keep the secret! We love this restaurant. Family owned and operated. They are very nice and good people and the food is excellent. Medium well done eggs are perfect! The cinnamon rolls are delicious. Some of the best burgers you can find in the area and don’t get me started on the French toast on Thursday morning 😍.

This is a hidden gem! We came to Kentucky for the bourbon, and we stayed for this breakfast spot. The warm welcome, service, and food were all excellent. We came every morning for our four day trip and our favorite menu options were the biscuits and gravy, sausage biscuit (with cheese and egg added), and grits. Highly recommend a stop at The Farm Kitchen if you're in the area and looking for a bright spot in your trip.

We had sausage gravy and sausage and bacon egg and cheese biscuit sandwiches. The gravy was delicious, and the biscuits were large and crumbly. The service was extremely friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was very clean, and so were the restrooms. The tables were cleaned promptly, so we didn't have to wait for a table. Take a cooler if you plan on shopping from the coolers because there are different cuts of beef, pork, chicken, and sausage available for sale. They're open Tuesday through Saturday from 6 am to 2. We would definitely eat there again to try the lunch menu.

Very friendly people both those working there and customers. Food was huge for breakfast and was southern comfort food. Lots of parking in the front and back. They love to hear where we're from. It's right middle of a small community.

Most of the time i am in area they are closed since they are literally only open 40 hrs a week. The few times i have gotten to eat here the service has been a little slow due to being full of locals with limited staff but the food has been the kind of decent you would expect from a local diner. If your a driver on your 30 minute break definitely avoid but if on your 10hr or willing to take a longer break AND they are open it is a refreshing change from subway or PF fresh across the street just expect to wait. This is a small town diner in a small town, no one else is in a rush even if you might be. All in all, a nice place for a slow morning breakfast before a long haul, even if the local conversations are a bit .... rustic 😬 .

Had breakfast at The Farm Kitchen while visiting my sister in Kentucky. It was absolutely delicious. Biscuits and gravy were to die for, as were the pancakes. Loved the biscuits so much, I took a four-pack home on the plane back to Utah.

What an amazing gem outside of Shelbyville! I go for the breakfast but they serve lunch as well. Open until 2pm on most days and closed Sunday. Fabulous food, HIGHLY recommend. Family owned and operated and a great atmosphere. I had the baskets and sausage gravy, two straps of bacon and diced potatoes. Very good and very reasonable in price. Gotta go and see for yourself!

First time here so thought I would try several items...biscuits with sausage gravy, bacon, eggs, and potatoes. Gravy was tasty but a bit too much sausage so was very thick. Bacon was excellent! I'll take a pound, please! Eggs were good and potatoes were tasty, but were made with red potatoes. I prefer russet for fried potatoes. Unfortunately the biscuits were very dense, chewy and lacked seasoning. Combined with the sausage gravy it worked ok but I'm going back for more to taste the biscuits separately. All in all a good start. Looking forward to my next visit!
