The Erlowest & Sun Castle Resort - Hotel in Lake George - 3178 Lake Shore Dr, USA

My husband and I went for our 43rd Wedding anniversary. The room was beautiful with a nice bathroom, whirlpool tub and comfy bed. A step back in time. And the views of the lake were fantastic! We had dinner and breakfast which were wonderful. And, not the ordinary restaurant food and service. 5 star chef and kitchen.! |Even ran into couple whose daughter was a friend of our daughter in grade school (Fayetteville Manlius,NY). They were there for dinner and they now live nearby Lake George.

Classic Victorian setting with beautiful view of lake. Balcony was a nice setting to have a morning beverage as the haze dissipates over the lake. Nice lakefront area, especially the small, private beach. |Breakfasts, which were included, were served in a quaint dining room. Portions were huge and selections were ample; full American breakfast.|Employees were pleasant and attentive, making you feel welcome. They always asked if anything was needed. To that end, we did need a couple of things attended to, which were fixed in a prompt fashion.|The one issue that would have been helpful to address is the strength of the castle's Internet signal. However, this may be a problem of the Lake George area, in general.|We were able to reserve the last room in the castle, so it was a bit small, albeit adequate for our needs. We would look to return to this venue, probably seeking a somewhat bigger room. We highly recommend the Erlowest, with the castle best for couples and seniors.

Fantastic venue - even better than the online presentation. The room was spacious and spotless. Dinner at The Shepard was outstanding - wait service, menu selections, food preparation, value - all exceptional. Every staff encounter was hospitable and professional. Highly recommended!

We had our anniversary dinner last night. Went to Inn at Erlowest in Lake George. Beautiful place and absolutely scrumptious meal. We had braised boneless short ribs, pork chop with a vanilla bean lavender cheesecake and chocolate mousse for dessert. Highly recommend for both the setting and the food. We went there about 4 yrs ago, also for anniversary, and as good as we remembered. There was a problem with our reservation ( we booked an out door table with view and they neglected to note that the outdoor area was booked for a wedding). However, they more than made up for it.

We booked a suite in the main bldg, lake view. Property is beautiful, well manicured gardens, gorgeous views, w/ outdoor seating & dining. Service was very good, esp from dinner wait staff & housekeeping. Full Dinner & lite fare dinner delicious! Staff was fantastic during tornado warning! Liked the complimentary Keurig coffee bar & water at our floor sitting area. Pool, Books, boardgames, 5-10 min drive to town. Boating, parasailing, tours, hiking, history & outlet shopping all available. Very Nice getaway!! TY Erlowest team!

On September 2nd we arrived with all intent on having a great time. Dinner was excellent,staff pleasant. However,bed curtains were torn and hot tub broken and needs repair.|while in town my wife subsequently tore her meniscus and needs surgery On the morning of September 3rd, we had to leave . We left at 8:50 before breakfast. We told the clerk at the desk about our situation,and went to the emergency room.|Just talked to management,and I guess you can’t get sick or injured at your establishment!|I suppose,that if I booked a week,you’d take the week as well???|REALLY???|Not acceptable,and it is not reprehensible !!|Not even an offer to comp us unused stay??!|I will be telling others!!

The location is lovely but it is in need of a major makeover. Ac in window barely worked and old heavy drapes covered the ac so you either had sun in your eyes or sweat. Bathroom in need of major makeover. Wallpaper is peeling and there is a musty smell throughout. Servers were our favorite part as well as the dinner. Gym very sad. The lake is beautiful but be careful. The rocks are very slippery and they put canvas down to reduce slipping but my foot got stuck in the strings and I slipped anyway, sadly there is no joy here. Most of the property is for weddings or cabin rentals.

Nice cozy inn right on the lake. Bed was comfortable but pillows a little hard. I am sure I could have asked for softer ones as they were very accommodating. Bathroom and room very nice. Breakfast was wonderful. Best oatmeal I have ever had! We will go back as it was wonderful.
