The Equus - Featured Reviews (662)
We come to Oahu several times a year from Maui. We've stayed in Airbnb, VRBO, and hotels. |We've seen Equus in passing, but have never stayed here until now. The price was good, and we took advantage of the Kamaina discount. The photos showed comfortable rooms. I liked that there is a cafe on site.|I called the morning of check in with a question, and Lincoln was very helpful.|We arrived a little ahead of check in and took advantage of the bar/Cafe for lunch. The food was very good, and the service exemplary! Lincoln came to find us when our room was ready. Check in was a breeze.|The room was sparkling clean with comfortable chairs and a table. The AC works very well. The bed is comfortable.|There is a mini fridge, Keurig with complimentary tea and coffee. |The bathroom amenities are nice. Love the fragrance free soap. The towels were clean and there was an ample supply. |My only interior feedback would be a request for a hand towel rack near the sink, and a second hook for bath towels. It would be a big safety plus to have a grab rail in the shower.|This is pretty much 5 out of 5 stars for us. We felt taken care of (mahalo nui loa Lincoln!), and will most assuredly stay here again!
I was visiting for a work conference and chose to stay at the Equus because it was within budget and just a short walk from the convention center. The hotel was very laid-back, comfortable, and walkable to almost anything. The highlight was definitely the staff! They were so friendly and personable with everyone. The Paniolo Bar was amazing. It's an awesome, quaint little open-air spot for guests and locals to grab a drink in the evening or coffee in the morning, they also had live music on Saturday night. I highly recommend asking Matt to make you an old fashioned, you will not be disappointed. I also love that it's a family-owned hotel and was more than happy to support that. If I ever get the chance to come back to Waikiki, no doubt I will stay here again!
Fantastic friendly staff. Comfortable rooms. Charming bar. Great location—right next to Ala Moana Beach Park for swims and walks. Easy access to Waikiki, Kaka’ako, and Downtown. This was our second stay—perfect both times. We’ll definitely book there again.
Unfortunately I still have 10-11 days (total duration 3 weeks). I was greeted with a long black hair in the shower when I first arrived. I later saw a dead cockroach in front of the bar which took a good 15-20 minutes for someone to address after I had mentioned it to the staff. The stairwell has had a dead cockroach for 4+ days which I haven’t bothered to report. I’ve also found another long black hair in front of my toilet which just sort of sits there despite daily room service (I am bald FYI). Your “clean” mugs when you return from a day out never actually touched soap during the cleaning process. Today, after leaving a tip, I came back to a room with a hastily made bed, a used mug that room service didn’t even bother to fake clean, and no refill on the Keurig pods. I’ve had room service knocking on my door in the afternoon, late morning, and 8 AM for some unknown reason. You pay a resort fee but get nothing for it. The bed’s are good, the mini split keeps things cool, the staff is pleasant………I just wish there was an adult in charge who could better organize the staff, set expectations, and possibly inspect the work of their employees. Also find “do not disturb” hangars that don’t blow away in the wind. You should be fine for a few days but I wouldn’t recommend longer. I hope you find this helpful and my experience is an outlier.
It’s been a very wonderful time here as a military spouse with my husband. We have had a very welcoming environment and fun filled places around to handout. The reception is excellent and the people are very friendly and welcoming. Lincoln is such a great person and makes us feel at home every time we talk to him, |The property manager is very open to our challenges and has great solving skills. | Love it here. 😊😊
This little hotel is full of character, tastefully decorated, and with a welcoming, friendly staff. The location is an easy walk to Ala Moana shopping center and Discovery bay. The parking is limited, so reserve a spot. Thank you Renee for your gracious welcome and Dwayne for helping me park in the tight spots. The bartenders were also very nice.
Stayed here with my son for his 21st birthday holiday.
Nice, clean and affordable hotel in a great location.
Will definitely stay here again.
Shout out to Lincoln also.
Enjoy your Kit Kats my friend.

Hidden gem of Waikiki. I have stayed at Waikiki's fanciest and trendiest hotels but I had the MOST fun here. I can't wait to come back! I recommend staying here and buying a resort pass to a nicer pool if that's the experience you are after. There is so much to do on Oahu - get outside! At this hotel, you can't beat the affordability and location. Its so important to also support locally owned businesses. Especially ones as special and charming as this!
The hotel is very nice and modern. Everything is new and in good condition. The location is very central close to everything. I stayed in the ocean view room for 6 nights. The view is very pretty, and you can see Friday night fireworks from my bedroo
This hotel is a great place to stay while staying in Hawaii. I haven't had a bad experience while staying here.
The staff are friendly and go out of their way to help you with any questions. The rooms are perfect size for a vacation and updated for t
Ono, soo ono. If you enjoy the taste and feel of each bite in your mouth, this is the place for local, healthy, ono eats. Fresh every single time. This is the first time in my life that I have eaten at one restaurant three (3) times IN THE FIRST WEEK
Shoot was - as expected - amazing. Stunning mastery of technique, patter, and showmanship. Hilarious sense of humour, was great at working the crowd and had a lot of warmth and heart incorporated into his performance, and the story he told throughout

I have been searching and searching for great biscuits and gravy like I used to get back in Texas, and OMG these were so so so so much better than that. Did something different and went with the chicken biscuits and gravy and was happily surprised at
