OK, this is not a fancy 5 star hotel! The rooms are pretty basic. But they are clean, the beds are very comfortable. Loved the tile floors to sand and dust is easily removed. The people are fabulous with great customer service. I left my electronic book in the room, called the front desk the next morning and they had it. This is the first time I have ever called for a lost device and the hotel had it. Breakie is good. Great location. Nice pool for families. I was in the area on business and even though there was lots of noise outside, the rooms were pretty well insulated. I would stay here again!
Recently, we stayed at The Encinitan Hotel and Suites. We found our partial ocean view room to be clean and spacious. The room had all the amenities (comfortable bed, small refrigerator, large screen TV, phone, and AC) needed for comfort. Then too, adjacent to the room was a large balcony which offered a view of the ocean, along with beautiful sunsets. The hotel's location is convenient, for it is close to the beach and several restaurants. It was nice!
Encinitan Hotel and Suites has an amazing location! The staff has been friendly and welcoming. The suite is overlooking the park, and we still catch a great view of the sunset over the ocean. The room has a kitchenette and is very spacious. We are thoroughly enjoying our stay and will be planning future trips back here as well.
This is a nice place for the price. We had a very decent view of the ocean and a lil park across the street, all from our huge balcony! Moonlight Beach was about a 10 minute walk from the hotel and we really enjoyed being at this beach (1st time at this beach for us, we always stay in Oceanside). The room was a nice size with 2 queen beds and a pull out sofa. The bathroom was a good size, shower had good pressure and heat, the toilet was super powerful (it scared me lol)! We saw the cleaning crew in the rooms and they were sudsing up the table tops and taking EVERYTHING off the beds, it gave me a good feeling! My kids enjoyed the amenities of free breakfast and the pool!
This was not the place we booked for our vacation but the place where we did book did not honor our reservation due to being overbooked and so the 3rd party booking company we use set us up here.
I had an amazing stay here to celebrate my partner’s birthday! Great location. It is only a short downhill walk to the beach, shopping, or restaurants! Staff was very accommodating. We loved the pool + hot tub, and used the kitchenette daily! We had a lot of fun, and were able to relax to the fullest!
Briefly, as stated in other reviews - terrible almost non-existent service! I arrived after driving through heavy freeway traffic and was looking forward to signing in and heading to the beach... except - the lobby was empty! No one! Anywhere! I called the hotel number and heard a phone next to me going to voice mail. Ten minutes I stood there! Finally someone showed up and told me they had been on.a break - a break in the middle of the afternoon with no replacement in sight! What are they thinking?
Regarding the location... I had a "park view" room which is really a "freeway interchange view". There are large balconies but what's the point when the decibel level outside is over 100. And yes, if you look carefully, there is a small park with no street access across the street.
Yes, the hotel is relatively close to the beach but a long noisy walk next to six lanes of busy traffic. I was the only person walking anywhere.
Pluses? Large rooms if not a little lacking in warmth. Good for families with kids since the large heated pool is easily accessed from the back of the rooms.
And finally... I paid for my room plus a $15 "resort fee" but upon registering, was given another $15 "resort fee" with the non-sensical explanation that they charge everyone the fee - "yes" I explained, "but I already paid" and showed them my Expedia receipt. Didn't matter, and they were not nice about it.
So... overpriced, bad service and poor location but the Mid-century modern style building looks cool.
I’ve had to stay here for a couple weeks and although the location is amazing, the customer service is terrible. The lady at front desk is rude to the customers and was literally laughing suggestions to her. There is a major issue with the service from the front desk people. I’ve never experienced anything like it. Great location, relatively cheap, the breakfast is very pitiful, all the eggs pre packaged that look and taste like plastic.
I would say this would be a great deal if it wasn’t for the terrible customer service and free breakfast.
disgusting hotel!!!! Don't stay here the manager bj is a rude jerk. He is weird creepy vibe. Hotel us old falling apart. Bed dirty no sheets changed. Crazy drunks around area. Dirty bathroom. Hotel staff very I'll equipped. Young. Parking bad. Pool dirty.
By far, it is one of the best resorts I have experienced. So much charm and sophistication are included in the resort, from top-of-line spa treatments to cuisine and bars. Alila Marea is the spot if you are looking for a beautiful weekend retreat or
Gorgeous location, excellent customer service, beautiful rooms. Clean, attentive, helpful staff. Can't rave about this place enough. Get up, see the ocean, walk to the beach, it's not even 1 block and a half away. Ice cream around the corner, best
