The most elegant motel we've ever stayed at. The breakfast spread was very nice and staff were friendly. The location is wonderful for visiting the campus and town. But careful if you want a room with extra seating though. We got the King Deluxe which from the photos looks like it has an arm chair and is a spacious room, We got a very small room with no arm chair that could wasn't nearly as bright as the photos. It was a lot to pay for such a small space.

The place is really charming, and the staff is friendly and helpful. They have a simple but really solid breakfast, but the best part is the great room with lots of seating and places to chat. More thoughtfully decorated than a cafeteria in a typical roadside hotel. The rooms are simple but clean and I like the aesthetic. Beds are super comfortable and AC seems new (which is amazing in the heat of the summer). I would definitely stay here again the next time I visit the 5 college area.

This is a very sweet inn with a motel wing attached to it. I brought my dog and my sister— the two queen beds were excellent. I would ask that you install two strong reading lamps by each bed, especially as many visitors will be readers. I liked the staff very much. There is a great back lawn for a dog. I saw a young deer there as well as numerous brown bunnies. I stayed just after July 1 and felt that the prices were a wee bit high, more like hotel prices than an inn. However, I would stay again— it was a relaxing, quiet, welcoming hotel. Be advised that the inn part does not have an elevator, though the motel addition is there for people with disabilities. And the young friendly staff will carry your bags up for you. One thing I found odd is that there is a QR code for tips for room staff. This means they pay taxes on tips, which feels wrong. We left cash.

I was visiting Smith college and stayed at the Ellery for a couple of nights during summer (late July). The location is super convenient being walking distance from Smith including coffee shops, restaurants, and other boutique and book shops. There is also plenty of parking if driving. The check in area and room were also very homey and spacious. I slept very well on the comfy bed. I was able to work in the lobby without it being noisy as well. The staff are also very pleasant and nice. There is also coffee, citrus water and chocolate cookies at the front. The breakfast was also nice - I appreciated them having items to make avocado toast.

The only reason that I give the review 4 stars for the room is I had a pet friendly room…so the chairs weren’t that comfy and there was no rug. I understand why, but it could have felt more “soft and cozy”. However, to the good parts. It is very obviously newly updated and few little choices I thought were great. Nightlight in the bathroom was perfect, it is always so dark and in the middle of the night when you get up and don’t know the layout of the room, it can be disconcerting. The toiletries were good. The bed and pillows were comfy. There was a hook by the door for coats which was very helpful. The other amenities in the main common room was great. Very nice space, very good breakfast and food items available like cookies and mints by the reception desk, very nice little touches. Check in and out was easy. Would recommend and will come back if in the area.

this place is great! i would highly recommend. the rooms are super cute, the bed was very comfy, there were lots of big pillows. really nice soaps and shampoos were provided too! it’s centrally located and the continental breakfast was excellent. most importantly i think all the staff i interacted with were all so sweet and helpful.

Clean, pleasant, great bath products. Really liked the always-available lemon water and cookies in the lobby :) The breakfast buffet was good too.|This is a nice place for a quiet stay, with the center if town a short walk down a classic tree-lined New England street.

I was in town for a conference and I was a little nervous because I usually stay in big hotels with room service, but this place was adorable. The beds were SO comfy, they had my favorite lotion brand (Beekman 1802) in the bathrooms, the staff was amazing, the little touches made a difference. If I ever find myself in the area again, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at The Ellery.

Christmas is super busy for them, but the staff is friendly, and food is good 👍 even when the kitchen is backed up. But it's Christmas, so it's totally understandable. Just be sure to be kind and patient and tip your staff even if they are rushed

The gym is really nice and the range of equipment is great but some of the men that workout here are creepy, and will harass you when you’re trying to workout. If you’re a woman, you might get bothered by older men.
