The Dylan Hotel at SFO - Featured Reviews (843)
While the rooms are decent, the service is abysmal. We booked a queen room but were given a room with two narrow double beds without any prior notice or explanation. To get the room we originally reserved, we were forced to pay a $25 "upgrade fee." At check-in, staff promised us a 1pm late check-out, but they failed to record this in the system. As a result, housekeeping interrupted us shortly after noon, and management called the room at 12:30, disrupting important work meetings. When I addressed these issues with the manager at checkout, she was completely unsympathetic and refused to waive any charges. The lack of accountability and professionalism here is unacceptable. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you value reliable service and a respectful experience.
Pros: -Perfect stay if you’re flying out of SFO. It’s about a 5min drive. - Super close to the Millbrae bart station, about a 5min walk. -Comfy beds. One of the best hotel beds I’ve ever slept on. -Clean room. -Free parking. Cons: -The staff aren’t friendly. They seem like they are tolerating being at work. No one smiled or was welcoming. -The rooms have the thinnest walls. You can hear everything your neighbors are doing and anyone walking the hallways. We could hear people turning on the light switches—this was how thin the walls were. -Terrible parking lot. There’s plenty of space but be careful when you park your car here bc the spaces are so close together, it’s easy for your car to get hit.
This place is very well maintained and well run. Communications before the stay were superb and the checkin was very complete. I was pleasantly surprised at the inexpensive snacks available at the front desk. As for the room, although it was relatively small, it was fully featured and equiped with everything you need: good wifi, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron, plenty of towels, a work desk, and a great shower. Best of all, and what kept surprising me, was that everything I used worked well and looked brand new. Kudos to housekeeping and management for that.||No microwave or fridge, but for the price I would not expect those. My stay was one night as a "layover" -- I chose it because it is relatively close to the airport. As for location, there are no end of restaurants, mostly Asian cuisine, within easy walking distance.
I’m sure a lot of travelers are affected with the system crush today. It has been a long day for me as well. 5 hours delay at the airport. Everyone was so grumpy and tried but I finally made it back to San Francisco ! I booked the Dylan for the night knowing I just want to lay down and relax Joyce was so welcome and nice thought check in. Room was nice as well! Definitely a different feel from the airport today.
From the very start to end of our stay it was great! We were tourists in town visiting family and we booked here because recommended by our relatives in the area, known for being a safe area with many good restaurants within walking distance, with a pharmacy and grocery nearby as well. Especially love the staff! We were greeted by Anna, one of the Filipino receptionists and she absolutely made us feel so at ease after our long haul travel. Made our check-in process so efficient and was so warm, but so professional! I also lost my diamond earring on the second day and thought I had lost it in transit, but the housekeeping staff that day found it and placed it on my table without me even asking, was so relieved and one of the reasons I 1000% recommend this place. It was also really near the airport and the Bart which was so convenient for travelers like us who didn’t rent a car. The rooms were also very homey, beds were soooo comfortable and housekeeping was so good at cleaning daily. Thank you so much to the staff! Our stay was only from March 31 to April 3 but it was so wonderful thank you!!! Will definitely recommend to my friends and family visiting SFO.
An excellent stay at a reasonable price walking distance from SFO monorail An extensively renovated 3 story strip motel. Beautiful in the details, like a small outdoor seating area, providing water bottles instead of plastic, coffee, hot chocolate gratis AND wine by the glass. And of course the location, about 100 yards from the SFO monorail / CalTrain / BART terminal, so very easy access from SFO for early morning flights or late night arrivals. Good restaurants within short walks [we liked Neal's Coffee Shop]. Just an overall pleasant experience at a good value. While there is a microwave near the front desk for Guest use, a small refrigerator in the room would be nice.
I was delighted with my experience at the Dylan. I needed a place to stay overnight after arriving at SFO. The hotel is about a ten minute drive from the airport. I checked in by 7PM. I was met by Nina, the warm receptionist and got into my room very quickly. I was surprised by how quiet it is, given its proximity to the airport. The enormous Millbrae CA BART station was right next door enabling easy and quick access to the entirety of the Bay Area. ||My room was more than adequate and clean. I was also very pleased to find a turntable with four different discs by my bedside, reminding me of why ‘Frisco is the hippest place in the US. ||I was pointed to a terrific Chinese restaurant a quick 3 minute walk across the street, where I, the only Caucasian in the establishment, had a filling chicken fried rice dinner at a reasonable price. Having eating chicken friend rice at Chinese restaurants for over 50 years, I was happy to have it include spices and nuances that were completely new to me.||The Dylan SFO is also very reasonably priced. I recommend it wholeheartedly. ||My only niggle is that the “Beyond TV” system the hotel uses was confusing and, to my mind, limited.
I was looking for a reasonably priced place to sleep a few hours and shower before my flight. This place was clean, and pretty. The service was fast and friendly. I booked on Expedia and got a good rate. The airport is literally right there.
My husband and I stayed here during our weekend trip to San Francisco. It was a very good deal. We had no initial deposit for our 3 day stay, and we had free breakfast every morning! The cleaning ladies are so nice and had the room clean with towels
This location is home away from home thanks to the friendly front desk staff. All staff are so kind and caring. I would like to acknowledge Razika, Debbie and Om for their contributions to the customer experience. Juan and his crew for making sure ro
The manager Koko is AMAZING! Very enthusiastic, professional, welcoming demeanor, just a great energy to be around. Knows his craft. Has a lot of great juices, I'm VERY picky and liked a bunch of the ones I tried. I actually couldn't decide on which o
I really felt weird that your waitress, a sweet and beautiful girl makes a disgruntled face and is being sassy. Like she was doing me a favor. No offense, but I came here to enjoy the food and have a good time, not to see why I'm getting a wrinkled f
Bayfront Park offers a unique experience for aviation enthusiasts. The prime location provides an excellent vantage point to witness San Francisco's flight landings and takeoffs. The park's amenities and comfortable viewing spots make it an ideal spo
My father is a regular and he brought me to this excellent sandwich Deli while I visited San Francisco. I ordered one of the Premium Hot sandwiches and it was very good. The bread was so fresh and the fillings were very generous and great value. I hi
