Nice brisk evening with a bit of rain to reflect light images. Board walk was spacious & lots to see of the lake, ships, lift bridge, & of course, Duluth, Minnesota. Night life was busy in common area as everyone out for dinner, numerous choices.
Such a cool location! This was a spur of the moment stop but we were quickly enamored by the bridge being lifted as a massive cargo ship went through! This place also apparently had a live webcam you can watch on YouTube!
Well worth the trip!! Enjoyed watching the bridge and the lake views were beautiful.
It was the perfect time to go down there it was extremely windy and misting. The waves were crashing against the rocks and spraying about 10 20 ft up. (my guess) it meant for phenomenal pictures. There were other brave souls down there taking pictures and all of us would run to the car to warm up and back out again. Wouldn't have missed it. You definitely could not go into the walkway where the boats come through it was filled with water and dangerous as I'll get out. Safety should be your main concern.
The Lakewalk was very easy to get to. I paid to park with a credit card. It was only $3 for 0-3 hours. If you enjoy sight seeing, taking photos, a nice breeze and feeling like you're immediately away from the bustling city, then check this spot out!
What a neat little area, we enjoyed the water front very much and after walked through all the little shops and can’t forget the chocolate factory! The only down side was that the temperature was about ten degrees and the whole area was packed with people. We also got to watch the lift bridge go up and a ship come in. All in all good experience and would totally recommend
The new lakefront is beautiful and an engineer marel to enjoy. Most tourists will not see the engineer marvel of the large boulders buried in the lake to break the incoming waves. Behind the boulders a thick concrete wall anchored deep in the ground offers a second layer of protection for the new lakefront. There's also a new system to drain away water from the waves that do crash over the wall. Some tourists might not appreciate the higher wall but it is aesthetically pleasing and more importantly safer for everyone and will keep all the hotel lakefront intact. And it’s still beautiful to take a stroll or bike ride.
I cannot Wait to Come Back!! After talking with a few locals and noticing the new boardwalk, concrete and shrubbery, I was beyond thrilled to learn about All the new upgrades this park has done! Clean, eye catching and one of the friendliest places I’ve Ever come across!
Wild State Cider has so many delicious options to choose from! Hands down one of my top favorite cidery. So delicious! I didn't try them but they also have a variety of THC infused beverages if that's more your thing!
Such a cool hidden gem in Duluth so many little waterfalls and streams. Very peaceful and relaxing. Many places to squat and relax and enjoy the views. Trails are pretty cool too. It does go up a lot so be prepared for that. But the views are amazing
Super fun trails! Trails could be a bit technical for beginners. I like the fact that most are two way trails so you can ride the trails going down or up. I was challanged on my rock climbing and descending skills... Fun!
A must stop brewery when in Duluth! Their beer is really great (shout-out to the cold press black coffee ale) and they also sell THC seltzers and gummies. In Dec 2023 they had the Kokua Session IPA where proceeds go to the victims of the Lahaina wild
Great hiking with beautiful views. It was cloudy and gray the day we hiked here, but we still really enjoyed it. Lots of different trails to explore with various terrain options.
Exquisite Views
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Hawks Ridge Duluth, and I must say, it's an absolute gem for nature enthusiasts and bird lovers alike. The experience I had here was nothing short of extraordinary.
The moment I arrived, I was g
Beautiful park, beautiful views! Really nice hiking trails. I am even impressed by how nice the restrooms are! The Enger Tower is a fun experience. Feels like an old castle tower. Very fun and a must see if visiting Duluth.
We had an incredible stay and loved that it was in the heart of the Lincoln Park neighborhood - there were lots of shopping and breweries within close walking distance. The room itself was amazing, very spacious and stylish and we felt right at home.
If you are in duluth or even passing by, there is always something so fascinating about stopping by to see the ships come through the lift bridge.
If you have a few minutes to spare, definitely make the stop for you or your kids (you'll enjoy it too
