We stayed and dined at the Deer’s Head Inn for three days. The inn had character and charm. Cozy bedding, clean rooms and conveniently right beside a tops and drug store. We enjoyed having our complimentary coffee on the patio in the morning. The Restaurant had delicious plates, great cocktails and wonderful, warm service. Also great size portions. The fries, pasta, and caramel apple bread pudding were the highlight! We had a blast on our trip and can’t wait to come back!

Stopped here for dinner on the way home. Food was fantastic; I like pulled pork so when I heard it was a special I had to get what turned out to be the most delicious pulled pork sandwich I’ve ever had, hands down. People were great too, efficient and very friendly. We’ll be back soon.

Yessss!! Go here!! Weary travelers found a heavenly stay here with a delicious restaurant and friendly atmosphere. If you have time come for longer, but if you are driving home and need a bed for the night.. Stop here.. Sooo much better than a road side hotel and now we want to return and stay longer.. Check out the area as well. Rooms are great.. Food is prepared with fine attention to detail catering to all dietery needs.. Yes even gluten free and vegan choices.. By and far though the thing that stands out the most is the warmth of the place. From that first phone call to inquire about a room to sitting in the restaurant to the exchanges between customers we witnessed... Bravo!! and thank you!! 😁❤️We will be back. Added bonus we woke to snow!!

Great for a quick one-night stop while passing through the area! There’s a lot of charm and character to the rooms. Great value for the price! It’s not the most luxurious; however, it’s charming and great for a casual stop.

Had a lovely meal at the Deer's Head Inn restaurant this past weekend. Delicious cocktails and appetizers. We enjoyed the tomato and burrata salad as well as the halibut special - both fantastic. Will definitely be back!

If you would like an eclectic and fun place to stop this is it! We enjoyed our overnight stay: perused the bookshelf and played a couple of old records. Four rooms have been remodeled over the restaurant, and ours was very comfortable. This 1808 inn has character!

After a very long day of finalizing some business up locally, my beautiful fiancé wanted to take me out to eat. We were tired and very hungry and, if you've driven through Elizabethtown, you'll understand that there really aren't very many options. Anyway - we were close to the Deer's Head Inn and decided, based on the reviews we read, that this would be the spot for us. The establishment combines old world with new to create a more modern chic vibe - very Nouveau Adirondack. They have a lovely front porch which folks could dine on, and the indoor space is clean, bright and vibrant. The bar looked well stocked and they even have a beautiful pool table in the far back. This seemed to be 'the big' town bar (and frankly, probably one of two locations locally that HAVE a bar). We did not spend the night, so I cannot comment on the rooms. We ordered a cheese board, which was hands down the best part of the meal. It was outstanding. The Blueberry jam and Saint André combination with a little local honey - uh... killer. But sadly, that's where the meal deviated, and I can say, with much disappointment, that the remainder of our dinner was sub-par. My fiancé ordered a pasta dish with grilled chicken, which she said was very bland. A lottle dash of salt and she said it was improved tremendously. I ordered the New York Strip Steak and house fries with a Chimichurri sauce. The steak was cooked excellently, but I'm sorry for saying this, the chef was wrong on the cut - that was no New York Strip. The steak, though excellently cooked, had a tremendous amount of gristle, tendons and sinew. It was very difficult to cut and to chew and ultimately I had to do some serious 'surgery' to get at the meat, which ultimately I have to say, was very tasty. My guess is that the chef chose a Flat Iron Steak (also known as a Boneless Top Chuck Steak) as it had an inedible piece of silverskin/gristle that ran through the steak. The fries were also disappointing. Some were seasoned very well and had the perfect consistency, others were fried to death. The Chimichurri sauce was very nice. Our bill came to $110, which for steak and pasta, and no drinks, I felt, was a little steep. Ultimately, I don't think I'll be coming back here any time soon. For the price we paid for the food we received, we both agreed that it was too much buck for the bang. But the drinks look outstanding and so does the bar - so I'd recommend this place as a fun meet up spot for folks looking for a cocktail or locally brewed beer.

Stayed there last year on a road trip to Boston. I was upgraded to the library room, and had a fantastic stay. I loved the turntable, and had fun playing music. The restaurant downstairs also has fantastic locally-prepared food. It is also really close to the High Peaks for a quick hike. 15/10 recommend.
