$8.99 for Shrimp n Grits…..I usually stay away when it’s that cheap but when I tell you it’s probably the best Shrimp N Grits in Dallas. Perfect blend of salty and spice with the blacken shrimp(I’d have preferred fried catfish or blackened) seasoned to perfection! I’d easily have paid $15 to $20 for this, kudos to the chef! They have an incredible New Brunch Menu too, so y’all come check out this Black Owned HBCU establishment!!
I’ve been here several times for years since the place opened. I will never be back. I had to pay for two meals. As I ordered online and explained that it’s confusing to have a Poboy named fried chicken 3 pieces. The lady behind the counter looked at me and was rude. She didn’t said anything just typed in the fried chicken basket to have me pay another $13. Good thing I have another $13 to eat back to back because she didn’t say anything else. Then her and the man behind the counter began to talk and laugh and point at my son and I. Then to top it off it took the basket 30 minutes to come out after I had just sat for 30 minutes. Sitting in there with my 6 year old starving had never once happen to me. But I won’t be back. If your hungry I’d pass takes to long and the employees are rude.
The cashier had a very bad attitude. Worst service I have had in a long time. She answered our questions with snide remarks. We waited at least 30 minutes for our two meals. When my friend approached the counter to ask about our food, the cashier just looked at her and said that she would bring the food out when she was done making daquaries. So, after she made two daquaries and took another persons order, it was finally convenient for her to go get our food. The food was edible at best. I ordered the way overpriced chicken wings, over breaded and no flavor. The crawfish tasted like yesterday's leftovers. It was hard and nothing but breading. Their cornbread could be used as a weapon. I normally only post comments to give positive feedback, had the service been tolerable I would have only shared my comments with those at the table. The service and food was so bad that I wanted to warn others. I am big on supporting local minority owned businesses, but I will never return and would discourage people from going. I uploaded a picture of the rock hard cornbread. We broke it open to see why it was so hard. This is what we saw.
Certainly, it is an NOLA atmosphere, my hometown family favorite place " The Daiquiri Shoppe"❣️💯 Food and drinks always on point, trust that 👌🏾🙌🏾
Was told about this spot by my nail salon. I walked in and was instantly greeted. Philip was behind the counter and had awesome customer service skills. He was polite, hospitable, and very friendly. Now my fish (Swazi) it tasted and looked like but it wasn't bad. My salad was also filling. The grilled fish that I ordered for my daughter as a take out order was extremely salty she couldn't eat it but she did enjoy her salad. I may just go back a frozen Daiquiri.
I love the customer service and was able to watch the Rangers game while waiting for my food. Drinks are great & food is good. Check it out if you in the area.
I purchased 2 16oz daiquiris " Suicide" and that's all I remembered. The cashier had a name that is soft- light textured young lady which was very pleasant of the questions I asked about tastings. The atmosphere was Grown- Football Sunday for the guys with the latest music playing. And the menu fits a brunching, sipping and girls outing taste buds. I will return, but with the gworls to enjoy also. 😉 10/10
Customer service is always pleasant with a smile. The food is always on point. The chicken and fries were well seasoned and hot. This was my first time getting the praline bar. The sweetness really hit the spot. I should have gotten one to go.
