Surprisingly reasonably priced, excellent quality food that was both kid-friendly and adult-friendly. It's simple fare- soups, wraps, and sandwiches, mostly, but all very good. There were also plenty of vegetarian options and while I didn't check, I presume also some gluten-free. The coffee bar was solid, and there were even some local brews. All in all, I was super impressed and so were the kids.
This place is inside the NC Museum of National Sciences so the atmosphere is fun. Be prepared for lots of kids which is not a bad things. Food is yummy and comes out pretty quick. Staff is friendly. Very environmentally friendly with compostable plates, cups, etc. A little pricey but not outrageous. Par for the course in downtown.
Protein options are mostly fried and full of fat or carbs. Although the place and menu is good with great options the food itself is trying to be gourmet
I will definitely come back here. Food ordering was fast on a weekday and the food was made to order. Tables were clean and staff are friendly. Water cup looks good and water tasted good, can't complain :) Chicken and waffle is amazing and almost half the price as the popular one in downtown. Waffles were very fresh and fluffy and all cost only 7.20 with discount, this is in downtown, so that is a great price! The spicy fish sandwich is ok, the buns tasted very good and smell good lol, but the fried fish filet is too small. Would have been better if it was a bigger cut of fish. I have found my second favorite spot in downtown Raleigh for lunch that offers great food at low prices!
I mean these must be the nicest employees I’ve ever come across anywhere! The three girls working behind the coffee counter thus morning on 7/28 talked to my 3&5 year old, took care of all their needs, and were so friendly and fun that I was able to eat my lunch! Normally I get one bite when I’m alone with my kids and spend the rest of the time keeping them in their seats! My boys also spilled milk and made a mess and they were so kind, just cleaned it up and said accidents happen. The food and coffee were great as well. Thanks ladies!
Oh man! I can honestly say the day we went. I did not expect the food to be this tasteful. Service was quick enough for what we ordered. Even the kids food was good. Good sized portions across the board. This place here could be the reason to get a membership to the museum of natural science.
This cafe claims to be eco friendly, but uses all non recyclable plastic cups and utensils, and charges $.75 extra for plant based milk in their coffee. There are no vegan options on the menu (other than sides of fruit, tomato cucumber salad or potato chips). The sandwiches we were mediocre, fine but a little bland. The cucumber tomato salad side was the best thing we ordered.
Not a ton of space to sit. There wasn't too many people when we went, not busy at all. The food was actually pretty good. Price is a little higher but it's a museum. Some of the staff are not helpful and try to avoid eye contact. You get a buzzer for when your food is ready, I had 2 orders and when it buzzed only one of my orders was out, I attempted to ask about my second order but the employee bring food out just ignored me and went back inside. I am still not sure if they bring things out one at a time as I was unable to ask. I had to ask someone that was cooking and they were able to bring the rest of my order thankfully. The food was what made my review 4 stars. We got some wraps and sandwiches.
