What a little slice of heaven in downtown Ashland. This hotel is very unique - the way they infused art into space is electric. The beds are so, so, so comfortable. And the owners/staff are friendly, helpful and enjoyable. We came as a large group, and found ourselves hanging out in the lounge area quite a bit (it felt like a really nice living room space). Parking is tight in the back, but it's there and convenient. I admit I was a little skeptical about the shared bathroom concept (we stayed in a king room), but there are plenty of bathrooms/showers in the hotel, they are clean and easily accessible. I didn't mind at all. We will absolutely stay here again.
the Columbia Hotel is a awesome place. The new owners are on site and always working on renovations , to this historic, classic building. I have never stayed in a hostel and found it to be a neat experience. This place has a European vibe, and cool , art deco furniture and decor. They have really hip art everywhere. Nice lobby, even some beer taps at the front desk. The owners are music enthusiasts and have a lot of old school touches in the decorations. Also this is probably the best location for lodging in downtown Ashland. I highly suggest checking this place out !!!
The Columbia Hotel is amazing, top to bottom. The walls are flooded with artwork, the space is beautiful and relaxing, the rooms are unique and spacious. We (two adults and two kids) had a magnificent time while we were in the hotel. We played games and chatted with other cool visitors in the common space. The wifi was fast, the beer was cold, and the coffee (in the morning) was hot and free. I would give it 6 stars if I could, will stay there again!
This little gem is such a fun place to stay. Located in the heart of downtown, we walked everywhere; the best restaurants and bars are right outside the front door! Each room has amazing murals with paintings by local artists, making them unique and super fun. I love how you check in at the lobby, which is a bar where you can get delicious wine slushies or local craft beers and wine. It's the perfect location for our girls trip, we each had a bunk bed that had comfortable mattresses and great sheets! What a great place. We'll be back for sure.
this place is not for everyone but it was definitely for us! it's quirky and more like a hostel including some rooms with bunk beds and shared bathrooms. the atmosphere in this place is absolutely amazing. and the owners, Jay and Andy, super friendly, helpful, and fun (we want to be like them when we grow up!) this is the kind of place you actually look forward to hanging out in. local artists and Andy and Jay's eclectic tastes make for a really memorable stay. plus you can't beat the location. and it's dog friendly! we stayed there for 4 nights and we'll definitely stay there again.
Cute hotel but it is not ADA compliant and we made mention of our needs when reserving a room. We weren’t told there wasn’t an elevator (even though I wrote that a guest needed to use one and couldn’t get up front stairs) and upon arrival we were told to use back stairs. My guest took a fall on our way out but was not injured. We were also very far from the restroom and would have appreciated the hotel taking our disabled guests need for accommodation into placing us in a room that was closer to the restroom. Sometimes this means contacting a guest to explain details, even if it meant losing us as patrons.
My overnight stay at the Columbia Hotel was purely out of curiosity since the last time I had seen it, the place was mid 'revamp', where floors were covered in plastic, it's walls only half finished and beds were stacked up, awaiting their permanent placement. I was booked into the 'Romance Suite', a luxuriously appointed king room, with elegant, ethereal murals covering one wall and expansive views of the surrounding mountains from my windows. The large en-suite offered an original claw-foot bath, scented soaps, shampoo and lotions, as well as ample fluffy white towels, slippers and a robe. The plush king bed with it's soft pillows was extremely comfortable and the sounds of Ashland's busy main street below were completely silenced by the double glazed windows. I wanted to experience the completion and hospitality for myself and as a 70+ woman, traveling this time without my man, would I fit the demographic of it's ultra modern vibe? I did. It is wonderful and suited to all ages and tastes. Thank you for your hospitality. We'll be back!
Stayed at the Columbia Hotel 6/8/24 just one night. Concept of the place is super cool. They've had local artists come in and do murals/theme's in each of the rooms. They also have a common area to the left when you come up the stairs. We were heading to see a show at OSF, but they had a very interesting speaker in that area who was a famous photographer for bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, etc. telling her experience to the guests. The rooms were very nice, and they provided fun basket bundles of towels, slippers and robes for use. We had a 'Common Bathroom' which I wasn't super excited about, but it worked out well nonetheless! Your room does have it's own sink and mirror which helps. The next morning they had coffee and continental breakfast provided. My only recommendation would be to provide some tea bags as I don't drink coffee. Other than that, I loved the experience and would stay again!!!
Exceeded my expectations!! I came for an artist retreat and got so much more! Jacqui and Billy were wonderful hostesses. Jacqui accommodated every single need from planning amazing art activities, delicious local restaurants, beautifully appointed
We had a great time! The theme and puzzles were entertaining and just the right amount of challenging. Thanks Eden for being the perfect âbar tenderâ host!
