The Coachlite Inn - Inn in Sister Bay - 2544 S Bay Shore Dr, USA

Our hotel room had everything we needed to be comfortable and we slept well. The bed and linens were cozy, there was a TV and a DVD player, microwave, mini fridge, air conditioner dressers, chairs and a small table. I liked having the sink outside the bathroom too. Shampoo, lotion and soap were complimentary in a basket by the sink. The room was quaint and very clean. There was an ironing board and iron if we needed it. |The property has a hot tub under a nice gazebo and although we didn't use it, the people in it told us it was wonderful. There was plenty of room for parking with several handicap spaces. |The hotel is tucked away in a wooded area so you can't really see it from the busy road and we loved how quiet it was. In addition to the pretty flowers and plants around the property, it was decorated with pumpkins and gourds for the fall. |The complimentary breakfast was good. We had several cereals to choose from, juice, coffee, milk, donuts, toast, jelly, peanut butter, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, granola bars, fresh fruit- enough to get you started for the day. I noticed there was an outside seating area if you wanted to eat outside too. The staff was very friendly and greeted you as soon as you came in the door. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, I know we'll be back. |

Just a great space overall for the family. It's location is perfect with a walkable distance to Sister Bay downtown, just enough to work off a nice dinner and a couple of drinks. The room was large and we had more than enough from with our little guy. People were wonderful and coffee was nice and fresh in the morning. If you're looking for a nice space to call home for a few days, you found it. Cheers.

Throughout all the years going to Door County, we have stayed at many hotels and resorts, but Coachlite was not what we expected. When we pulled in, we were expecting some large hotel/resort complex because of its sign in the front. Lo and behold, we discovered a rustic location hidden from the road and fell in love with it immediately. Surrounded by trees, plant life, and quiet. The front desk could not be any more friendlier. Our room was incredible. Clean, bright, and simply comfortable. Will we come back? Heck yeah!!! We now call it our "Secret Cove!"||We've been to the Secret Cottages in Sonoma, CA, and now we have our "Secret Cove" in Sister Bay!!!

We stayed end of July/ early August 2023. ||PROS: |*Owner and staff very friendly and accomodating.|*Cute and quiet place, out of the way, but still near the "action" in Sister Bay.|*They do serve a (small) breakfast. (It was adequate for us and we knew in advance it was small.)|* The sink and toilet/shower area are separate, which was a nice thing.|* Good budget price.||CONS:|* BIGGEST con, which is the only reason why I wouldn't stay again in the warm weather months.... The AC in the room could not keep up well and did not seem to be working right. Thankfully the weather wasn't super hot and the ceiling fan worked. (not on high, as it made a funny noise though.) The unit is probably 8 inches from the bed, so even when it is working properly, the air probably can't get into the room.||These other cons would not cause me to choose elsewhere....only the AC.||* The room smelled strongly for the first day of bleach or some other cleaner. Way too much cleaning chemical used or whatever it was.|* The hot tub was nice, but too much chlorine. Our eyes were burning just sitting in it.|*The room was quite small. Adequate for 2 people but I wouldn't recommend more. (We had 2 queen beds.)|* We would have liked to know prior to arrival that breakfast wouldn't be served until 8 am. We are people who like to get early starts on our daily adventures and would have planned better for our own breakfast in our room. Maybe add that info to the website?||Would I go back?? Maybe. In a different room, perhaps I would go back. If you're looking for low budget, it can serve your purpose.

Very nice facility in a quiet area. It doesn't seem like it would be as quiet or feel secluded, until you drive in. The facility is surrounded by trees and makes you feel like you are in the middle of the woods. Staff I encountered was very friendly and the room was clean. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.

We make it up to Door County every few years and staying at the Coachlite Inn is the one "must do". What a charming inn. Quietly well-off the highway by way of a short winding entrance. The grounds are so pleasant, nicely landscaped. We especially love the large outdoor whirlpool inside a lovely gazebo. Shout-outs to the proprietor Rich, who is always friendly and accommodating; and to Tiffany at the front desk, who is equally friendly and went out of her way to help us whenever we had a question or needed something.

The people here are salt of the earth. Very accommodating. Never hesitated to make sure we had what we needed. My problem was with the comfort level of the room. The beds were too firm for me, and for a comfortable place to sit, the room could use a small sofa instead of a table. I had back pain all week long.

We have been coming to Door County for five years and this is by far the most uncomfortable stay thus far. Our room was not very clean and our air conditioner did not work the entire stay. When we notified the owner they blew it off like it was not a big deal. When you stay on the first floor you can hear everyone above you. Too hot and too noisy for this trip to be peaceful.
