The Circ powered by Sonder - Hotel in Hollywood - 1780 Polk St, USA

This review is a little overdue since I stayed during July 2022. I would say this hotel is about 3.5 stars - it wasn’t horrible but def could be improved upon. The feel of the hotel is very modern which I loved but a lot was also left to be desired dying my 9 day stay. For starters, the rooftop bar and restaurant are so convenient and fun. The room tv did not have that many channels and there was no option for streaming. I was in the room a lot since I work from home but was unable to watch tv most of the time. There was a very small fridge that did not have much cold air so I couldn’t fit much. There is also no microwave in the room or nearby so if you’re like me and spend a lot of time in the room you either have to go out and buy fresh food daily or order takeout. Parking in the area is also super difficult and valet is $30/night. There’s no towels by the pool and the bar/restaurant doesn’t open til 530 so you can’t grab a drink or food there if you’re lounging. There is a Publix right next door as well as a coffee shop which is convenient. The room is also not cleaned everyday unless you request it in the app but the cleaning lady did pass by almost daily and ask if I needed anything. The customer service in the app is also great and they were very responsive. The gym is super small and would get packed on weekends so it was hard to workout but it was less busy during the week. There’s no water fountain anywhere so I kept having to go to vending machine or to Publix. For a quick weekend trip I def think this is a great choice and it’s very central to Hollywood so it’s easy to walk anywhere but for longer trip or a work trip where you might need to be in the room more often or want access to more hotel amenities it’s not worth it in my opinion for the price.

Lovely view, nice amenities and great location in downtown Hollywood above a Publix and across from the park. Everything you need is nearby and walkable. The room wasn't terribly clean, but not enough of an issue to affect our stay or opinion. We would definitely return to this property. The pool didn't have a lot of seating and the cushions were heavily soiled from lotions and oils, but they provide very nice towels to sit on and it's a wonderful view from the rooftop.

What made the experience extra special was the extremely kind representative at the front desk on the evening of 1/23/24. While we were talking she recognized that I was having a very difficult time (dealing with family health issues) and came out from behind the desk to give me a hug and express her concern. I didn’t get her name but wanted to express my sincere thanks!

Decent “hotel” for the money. Well this isn’t technically a hotel, it’s an apartment complex. Before arriving you have to download an app to get instructions on how to check in the hotel. The app gives you a passcode for an elevator and the room. Pretty much everything is done through the app. If you are in need of any assistance like more towels or want to have housekeeping ($20 per visit) you can call it from there. Funny thing with the housekeeping - you can schedule a time and date they can clean your room however nobody was available during the entire time of my stay of 4 days! This was a bummer, luckily somebody was able to bring extra towels and toilet paper up. The beds were OK but there was a lot of dust behind the headboard. Now, barn doors in the bathroom..who’s idea was that? The doors don’t fully close, there is always 2” gap all around the door and of course all the noise and smell gets through. Absolutely no privacy, just unreal. Please get yourself regular doors… Both floor and table lamps were broken during my stay. The walls are paper thin, you can hear people on the other side if they are being loud. Parking was convenient but pricey - $30 a day, however you can take your car in and out as many times as you want, all you gotta do is call it from the app and valet will bring it out in a few minutes. There are 3 restaurants on site which i wasn’t able to visit but heard good things about. However none of them serve breakfast so you gotta figure out where to eat. There is also a pool deck on the top floor. Location is good, there’s Publix in the building and many other restaurants, bars, and shops in the area nearby. Overall it was an OK stay for the money.

This was a great hotel experience! Super clean and modern room with everything you need! Great view, great location in the midst of downtown Hollywood. Valet service was exemplary. The fact that you could conduct car request with text was awesome. Will recommend to anyone going to The Hardrock Casino, as it is an easy drive and you save HUNDREDS on a really nice room.

This is not on the beach so you are walking about 40 minutes. I didn’t think it was bad. They have no room service so you have to bring new towels up and down your cleaning just like you would an Airbnb. We stayed an entire week without anybody cleaning our room. Not the hotel service we hoped for. It’s a little weird that you have to walk through the restaurant to get to the pool where everybody is dressed nice and you are in a bathing suit a little awkward set up other than that it was OK.

My sister booked a room for me to stay while visiting her, and I am very pleased with this hotel! I want to highlight that the rooms are nice, the area is very walkable, and thanks to the front desk, Shai, I save so much money by using the electric shuttles in the city. The coffee shop was overpriced but very good! I didn’t try the food, but the drinks at the Olivia restaurant were excellent, and the bartender was charming. It was annoying that there were no phones in the rooms, but I could always come down to the front desk in the morning to get everything I needed. It took a bit of time to get my lights fixed, but I’m still content with my stay and will definitely be coming back. My only suggestions are to have people working at night; it’s always a ghost town in the lobby besides the restaurant. Also, to fix up the pool area, maybe have some music and pool floatys for guests! Again can’t wait to come back!

Our stay was great and Shy at the front desk was absolutely Amazing!!! She helped with all of my questions and was very personable and friendly. It was a great location and I would stay here again on vacations!!! Walking distance to some nice places as well!
