The Chateau at Lake La Quinta - Hotel in La Quinta - 78120 Caleo Bay Drive, USA

Edit: I am happy to report the hotel removed the resort fee and they are working on refunding the meal I mentioned in the review. Although it is after the fact, I am very pleased with the hotel’s response. I am a guest of the hotel the week before Christmas 2023. The location and lake view are great. The hotel is very pretty inside and out. The pool needs resurfacing. The greeting we received upon arrival was good. The bed is comfortable. When we got to the room, a bulb was out in the bathroom. No big deal. Finding underwear from the previous guest was not so good. The staff could benefit from a little training, like to look up from their phones to greet guests. Tonight is our fifth night and housekeeping has not managed to give us the basics yet. I had to ask for towels. I had to ask for coffee and creamer. I had to ask for shower gel. I got more shampoo instead. To top it off, tonight’s dinner at the on site restaurant was an absolute train wreck. I really want to love this place and I want to give it 4 or 5 stars! If they would just do the basics, it would go a long way.

This hotel doesn’t look like much when you first pull in the driveway, but looks can be deceiving. I booked the superior lake-view room and it was so lovely I didn’t want to leave! The staff were all very friendly and accommodating to any request. I was given a glass of some good tasting champagne upon arrival, the room was nice and cool when I walked in and it was way nicer than I expected for the price I paid. The pool is open 24 hours which I LOVE. My room included a tub, a shower, two sinks, a balcony with a stunning view and a very comfortable king bed. Very nicely decorated.

I visited this hotel a week ago and it is till on my mind. My husband and I were greeted by Reuben.I can not express how kind and respectful he was. He constantly asked if he could do anything for us. Reuben made our whole experience memorable. The hotel is beautiful, the food is to a very high standard. The patio area is so pretty and a relaxing place to hang out. A huge thank you to Reuben and the whole team. 100 stars...

Check in was quick and easy, girl at the counter was pleasant. Was asked to leave a credit card for "incidentals" after booking and paying online and thought nothing of it since I was staying for less than 12 hours on a business trip. Got back home a few days later and noticed a 31.90$ charge on my card. I didn't take anything or use anything besides the little shampoo and conditioner in the shower that were the size of my ****. Reading the other reviews leads me to believe it was a "resort fee" charged to everyone. VERY shady and misleading, just charge me from the beginning.

I came back to my room to find that all my belongings that I left in my room were stolen. There are some very serious security issues with this establishment and o recommend staying elsewhere. This incident has cost me thousands of dollars in items I valued. My computer has s gone along with a travel bag that was worth close to 800 dollars and all of its belongings. Bottom line. Do not stay here. Thieves will get into your room and take all your worldly possessions if you do and don’t expect the local authorities to do anything but take a report. I’m beyond upset that this took place. There is no way this can ever be rectified. So the story gets worse. The very next morning someone entered my room at 6 am turned on a light, and woke me up. I thought I was being robbed a second time, but the front desk said it was their maintenance person who entered because there was some misunderstanding or whatnot and put the blame on him for not being a fluent English speaker. The manager later waived my charges in an attempt to make things right and told me to expect a call from their director about whether I might have some option to file a claim for the stolen property. I never heard back from anyone again after. Just today on 8/30, my credit card was charged for the the amount that they agreed to credit me. I have called multiple times and no one picks up the phone ever. Needless to say, this was one of the single worst experiences I have ever had in my entire life, and The Chateau at Lake La Quinta has done nothing but rub salt in the wound. I wouldn't stay there again if my life depended on it. It's unsafe and the management couldn't care less about their guests. Please find anywhere else to say when visiting the area. I wish I had.

No light in part of the bathroom. Fan in bathroom could not turn off .Pool looked dirty.| The daytime guy at the front desk seemed too stiff- programed and not concerned with helping solve a problem. The restaurant was closed because the chef was sick. There is no desk or table in the room. The shower and view were great,

Jasmine was awesome in accommodating us with the busy weekend! This is our second time coming here this year from San Diego and it’s basically a paradise in heaven. Thank you to the staff for the awesome services and again to Jasmine for being the MVP!

Everything was great from checking in to the front desk not having me go to the front desk when needing something but instead insisting on bringing it to my room. However, once we checked out instead of releasing the full $81.90 the hotel initially took upon check in, the front desk woman said they would only return $50 and the remaining $31.90 would be a resort fee that is charged. When I checked in I specifically asked the front desk woman if the full amount would be returned and she said yes. TO THE OWNER, you should train your staff to provide guest with VALID information when asked.
