Although significantly different than a traditional hotel the Chandler is a truly special lodging establishment. All communication is done by text and response times are very fast. Although we were a bit skeptical about the process. Our concerns quickly dissipated upon arrival. The lobby is warm and welcoming and the history of the building and its rehab displayed throughout the lobby is wonderful. Check out the Otis elevator in the lobby that was saved during rehab. Our room was Serenity on 2nd, suite 103 a dog friendly and ADA compliant room. Although our dog did not travel with us this time the room is set up perfectly with a dog having their own room with a television within the room. Very comfortable beds and an ADA compliant shower along with a thoughtful coffee station that reduces waste by using reusable small Mason style jars for the coffee. A refrigerator full of refreshments and chocolates was great. Situated downtown the Chandler is an easy walk to all the special places of Madison. The Chandler has become our go to when we visit Madison which is several times a year.

I can’t begin to express how special and beautiful this place truly is! We had a kid-free weekend and on a whim, drove to Madison, IN. We managed to book a room at The Chandler Hotel just TWO hours before check in. The whole process was an absolute breeze- from booking, to checking in, to parking- we had zero issues. The outside of the building is gorgeous- but the real magic is inside. The lobby - stunning! From the decor & furniture, to the record player & books- they absolutely nailed the luxury, modern/yet vintage vibe. We stayed in 205, Sunset on Broadway. It was impeccably clean and had amenities galore! A mini fridge, iron & ironing table, coffee bar with fresh, local coffee grounds, a binder with tips/info, AND the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept on plus plenty of pillows & linens. The bathroom was insanely beautiful and stocked with soaps/lotions from another local business. To top it all off, there is a rooftop lounge with comfortable seating and charming lights/decor. We sipped on beverages and enjoyed the sunshine in peace. I honestly didn’t even want to leave the hotel! I wish we could’ve stayed longer but I know we will be back to this little slice of small town heaven. 10/10 recommend !

We just returned from a two-night stay in the Midnight on Main suite. It was phenomenal! The entire hotel is pristine and very well maintained. The hotel was incredibly quiet and intimate the entire stay. There were several spaces to lounge; we especially enjoyed the history in the lobby and the rooftop terrace. The hotel is a beautiful blend of history and modern features. The room itself was very cozy and the golden accents truly reflected the essence of a street lamp at nighttime. The decor was very carefully curated throughout the entire place. The shower felt luxurious and the body care items were wonderful. I would buy stock in the lotion they provide!! The mattress was very comfortable and we were pleasantly surprised they offered an extra blankets in the room and toiletries/towels down the hall. Their coffee cart in the room was lovely, and I appreciate the environmentally conscientious decision to use mugs, glasses, coffee in reusable jars, etc. The mini fridge in the room was perfect for our leftovers from local restaurants, and I loved having refreshments down the hall. The drinks were cheap and it was simple to pay with a QR code. The building is in a quiet area, but only a block away from downtown. We never struggled to find parking more than a car or two away from the entrance, but there's a free public lot very close by if it's busy. Of course, this info is listed -- amongst many other Madison travel tips -- in a sweet binder they have in the room! We adored our little getaway and hope to be back soon! I think we'll try another suite when we come back in winter time to hike at Clifty Falls! I'm very much so looking forward to it.

This Place Truly Deserves a 5 Star Review !!! I do not typically do reviews, but I had to take the time to complete this one, for Matt and the entire Chandler Hotel Team. Wow. What a beautiful place, and what a peaceful place to stay. It’s also right in the middle of EVERYTHING you’d wanna visit while staying in Madison. Nice high end furniture and fixings throughout. Very cozy bed and very updated bathroom. There was NOTHING dirty and there was NOTHING not in tip top condition either. The hosts were VERY responsive and VERY VERY nice and pleasant to work with. We were visiting Madison to attend our daughter’s Doctorate graduation from Hanover College. If you’re ever in town, don’t even look anywhere else…..Chandler Hotel is your place !! Thank You Matt !!

The Chandler Hotel is a gem! The Chandler is way above any hotel we have ever stayed! The closeness to downtown with many restaurants and shops was just a couple blocks away! Walking to the Ohio River was so relaxing in this beautiful historic town! We plan on coming back to The Chandler!

My wife and I stayed at the 1809 suite. We truly enjoyed the small hotel experience while also feeling that the details of the hotel were well taken care of. We would recommend more options be available to get supplies for the room, such as water refills other than the tap. The room was unique, clean, and secluded feeling. The hotel was within walking distance of the charming downtown area, the river, and most of the places to eat. Highly recommend staying at the Chandler! Lots of history in Madison as well. The lack of contact to any staff at the hotel may be off putting to some folks, but we enjoyed being able to use our code to get in and out whenever we wanted without any hassle!

After seeing all the great reviews, we had very high expectations. Those expectations were exceeded in every way. The rooms were phenomenal, the attention to detail was exceptional and the location could not be better. Every place we wanted to go was an easy walking distance. The hotel was elegant, quiet & restful. We were there to celebrate our anniversary and could not have asked for a better stay. This will be our go-to place from now on.

I can’t say enough about this beautiful hotel suite. The amount of detail they put into these rooms is unbelievable! From the time you enter into the room, you immediately feel a sense of relaxation with the lighting, to the filtered water in the adorable etched glass bottle, the beautiful attention to detail in the decor, the individual local coffee provided in cute little jars for ease. ❤️ The bed was so comfortable and all essentials were provided! What a wonderful weekend experience! I can’t wait to come back to visit! Well done Chandler Hotel!

I've explored the exterior of the property for decades, but this was my visit time touring the inside. It was a fun experience. Our guide, Derek, only enhanced our afternoon! Definitely worth checking out when visiting town (not a big time investm

Great location overlooking the river. We stayed in the beach house room on the 2nd floor. Room was clean and comfortable and spacious. There are about 20 steep steps to get up to the 2nd floor. They have live music on the weekends and a nice bar and
