James and his team have made the Celestine an amazing place to stay in the French Quarter! Beautiful remodel of a historic property with a really cool story. Excellent bar and coffee bar, connected access to Peychauds bar (those guys are great too!), beautiful courtyard and fantastic location. We walked everywhere we wanted to go. James and his team provided excellent service and history, and we can’t wait to stay at this boutique gem again!
Loved my stay at the Celestine last month! We were met by friendly and engaging staff who shared the history of this special spot. The rooms are lovely- thoughtful touches designed to evoke history without sacrificing luxury! The location of the hotel is right in the mix of the French Quarter- jazz from neighboring restaurants mix with lively nightlife. And drinks at Peychauds are a must! There is some noise that inevitably comes with that proximity to the action, but the hotel provided ear plugs and speakers to offset. Celestine is a charming outpost for a fun-filled visit to the Quarter!
I stayed at this hotel at the end of March 2024. I have stayed at their sister hotel, The Chloe, a few times and loved it, so I was excited to try the Celestine. It did not disappoint. The rooms are insanely gorgeous. The staff incredibly helpful. The weekend were were there you we sat on the back courtyard patio and listened to the wonderful Jazz music filling the air as we sipped our delicous coffee's. This little property will dazzle you! One thing to note, it is in the French Quarter so good to bring ear plugs or know that you can hear music until late night. I'm a heavy sleeper so I was totally fine, but my travel companion had a hard time getting to sleep. Not the hotels fault - and they do provide you with earplugs!
We had the most romantic stay at the Celestine! Highly recommend it for a couples getaway. We loved our cozy room (No. 9) and its view overlooking the courtyard. We woke up to the sound of birds chirping and jazz playing (in the Court of Two Sisters). The location was perfect for us. We walked everywhere. Despite its proximity to Bourbon Street, it was peaceful and quiet and just what we were looking for. We loved Peychauds Bar and had sazeracs every night. Enjoyed excellent service and enjoyed meeting James, the hotel manager. Thank you James and staff for your hospitality. We will be back!
Wow. I can’t say enough great things about my experience at The Celestine. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and meticulously designed. I love the fact that it feels like a secret that only I knew! Opening the front door you’d never expect the gem inside.
The staff were wonderful and accommodating from the start, which helps so much to feel comfortable when you’re traveling alone. Somehow they have managed to capture that feeling of home within a luxury hotel environment. They even left a hand-written note for me, which speaks to the thought and care that they have put into the entire experience.
I stayed in Room 3, with a large balcony overlooking Toulouse St. It was perfect for enjoying cocktails and the exciting atmosphere of the French Quarter in the evening, and just as perfect as a quiet, peaceful sanctuary to enjoy the sunrise and coffee in the morning. The room was extremely clean with every detail in place. The bedding was out of this world comfortable, I slept so well. I also loved that I could easily walk to Jackson Square, Bourbon Street and any of the restaurants and bars in the FQ area.
And a bonus I didn’t even consider: Peychaud’s Bar is right downstairs and connected to the hotel. It was great for being able to stay on-property to grab a nice cocktail for happy hour or before heading to bed. The bar is cozy and the courtyard is huge so it’s great solo or with a group.
All in all - 5 stars and I will definitely be back! If you’re looking for a boutique hotel getaway in New Orleans, I absolutely recommend The Celestine.
Overall it is solid but not sure pictures accurately reflect the space. It’s very tight. The bar is terrific but it is very loud. They offer ear plugs but I guess for me, for the price, I seek a quieter atmosphere. It is currently 8:30 on Wednesday and the music is pumping. Last night at 1 am, the noise outside my room was equally loud. Just be forewarned- it is more a party atmosphere than a restful respite in the quarter.||On both mornings, there was no coffee either. Small but important detail. ||Overall, I think you are better served choosing someplace else.
A hidden gem in the heart of the French Quarter!
Staying at The Celestine was like traveling Europe without needing a passport. This beautiful boutique hotel is full of old warm charm and European-inspired character. My room overlooked a gorgeous courtyard where you can enjoy a cocktail at the property's bar - Peychaud's. The amenities inside my room were fantastic (I loved large tub and fully stocked wet bar). The staff at the property was so helpful and welcoming. I can't wait to staycation here again!
Our experience at The Celestine was absolutely magical from start to finish. The location, ambiance, room, and team were perfect in every way. From complimentary cocktails at the gorgeous bar downstairs to the dreamy balcony looking over a classic New Orleans courtyard, I will now always choose The Celestine to stay at when I am in New Orleans! Thank you to the amazing team!

The executive king room is amazing, like having our own apartment right in the heart of the French quarter. Very clean. Great hotel staff. Easy to walk everywhere. My only complaints would be the water pressure is non-existent, but I imagine with old
