Happy to have this new pub in our 'hood. It was wall to wall packed on a Thursday night. Staff was friendly & attentive. The build out is masterfully done. Food & drinks were timely despite the crowd, which is A++! I was disappointed with the Brussels appetizer - I love brussels, candied pecans, pork belly & balsamic, but this dish didn't do much for me. Fish & chips were good. The helping was huge & I needed more than a ramekin of ketchup & would have loved some malt vinegar, too. Pass on the peas ... My wife had the Shepherd's Pie & enjoyed it. Another huge portion! We both took to-go boxes home. Good stuff ... Welcome to College Park!
12/27/2023 Took the wife for date night and we had a lovely time. There food was good and the server was friendly. The fish and chips had great flavor, but I wished the chips were a little fresher, but still good. If you like catsup, they only bring a little bit at a time, so just let them know to bring extra. The wife had a holiday cocktail that she sent to really enjoy, the sugar cookie and I had a classic Blacksmith. She really enjoyed the bangers and mash. Cool place, I'm sure we'll be back again. 12/21/2023 Just had a beer but the pub was popping and the servers and hosts were super friendly. I'd love to go back and try the food.
First timer My boyfriend and I went in to grab a late dinner on a Friday night after he had gotten off of work. The Castle was loud and busy, but we managed to find an open booth immediately. Even though we were late to the regular dinner menu, the options on the late night menu is a good option if you need to eat. The place is very popular. I received my food before my boyfriend. We both ordered the chicken tenders. Half way through eating mine, we became restless from waiting. We were ready to cancel his order, pay and leave. To our surprise, the owner approached our table with the hot plate of tenders and offered my boyfriend's order on the house. We were delightfully surprised by the level of service given how busy it is. Hands down, the customer service is exceptionally well.
We went here on a Saturday night. Not sure what is going on I know it's newly opened. Anyways, I ordered a Guinness It took 15 minutes to get it when I did it was flat not like it should be. There was a lot of waiting for stuff to be delivered. My partner Ordered fish and chips. It came out burned so we had to return it. I ordered another beer This also took 15 minutes and when she did return The server said they were out of my selection so I ordered another one that took another 10 minutes LOL.. It's interesting because there were plenty of staff but I don't think they had enough bar tenders. The couple sitting next to us ordered something that was also out of stock, so we ended up leaving. They had a guy playing music. But to be honest, it was pretty bad. It wasn't real Irish at all. $8.50 for a dentist. A little pricy for me.
Extremely enjoyable first visit to this restaurant. Three friends gathering for a meal and social time during late afternoon. While waiting for others to arrive, I sat at the bar for a cocktail, and I had very friendly and welcoming service (by Mary). I chose the Ginger Snap, which was both unique and refreshing. Definitely a ginger taste and might not be for everyone. We were seated at a great table location, which we later learned was actually the stage when they have live performances. Our server was Shannon, and she was great throughout. The menu is not extremely large, but it doesn't need to be, as there are selections to please everyone. Two of us chose Fish & Chips, and one ordered Bangers & Mash. We all loved our choices. Portions were large and filling. Parking could get a bit tricky when busy. I know I'll be returning again soon, and I can very easily recommend the restaurant. Go and enjoy!!
The Castle Irish Pub is what College Park has been waiting for! The owners have completely transformed the space, making it feel like a true traditional Irish Pub. The staff are all lovely, even when busy they are attentive and efficient. The food is FANTASTIC. For starters, I recommend the Reuben fritters or the chowder with Irish soda bread. The fish n chips is an obvious choice, and you won’t be disappointed. The batter is light, the fish is flakey, and the tartar sauce is just right. I also enjoyed the Slane chicken sandwich that’s topped with slaw and bacon. Highly recommend a side of the curry sauce for your fries! Looking forward to their happy hour drink specials and making The Castle a regular stop!
When I found out there was a new Irish pub opening up, I was skeptical. Orlando is not known for its Northern European cuisine and the location has had several businesses come and go over the recent years. Nevertheless, I had to give the Castle a go and sure am excited after my first of many visits to The Castle. Honestly, I hope the place becomes an institution of College Park, similar to Fiddlers on the other side of I4. With this being a new establishment, it isn't a reach to give a review based on first, second and final thoughts. First thought: wow, this is actually much nicer than I anticipated. Should I have worn a collar? Look at the layout, the wood work. I'm impressed. A bit of an older crowd but it's college park so I wouldn't expect anything less. Second thoughts: the wait staff are pretty incredible. Friendly, quick with a recommendation and seem to enjoy the jobs they have, even if it's for that moment. And the food, I had the bangers and mash (it's a staple) recommended by one of the bartender; I wasn't in love with it. BUT it was a fine choice for a first experience at the pub. Final thoughts: What can I say? The place is great! I'm not sure exactly what it will turn out to be over the long haul but I'm excited to have a new go to place in the heart of college park. Highly recommend!
Have to send a proper Thank-you to Shane, Paul & the entire Castle staff for helping me celebrate a wonderful birthday with family & friends☘️🙏🍻 The food & pints were delicious, the accommodations were perfect, thank you for all your help ahead of time making sure our group was good to go. Although this is a newer establishment in our neighborhood, we are already making special memories here! Wish you nothing but continued blessings & success💚 - Tim
