Experience the past as if it were yesterday by staying in our restored 1878 Italianate Home formerly known as The Watts House.
Formerly a bed & breakfast, now an inn, offering larger luxury suites. The home is a treasure trove, rich with architectural details including many of the original fireplaces, mantels, light fixtures, moldings, intricately carved woodwork, doors bathtubs and sinks. While staying here you will find the atmosphere to be warm and inviting.
Our circa 1910 Carriage House, renovated in 2009, features two additional guest suites, each with California king beds and a private bath with an antique claw-foot tub and separate shower. On the main level is a meeting and event venue, a great place to plan a shower, birthday etc.
A tranquil little haven nestled in a charming neighborhood, the Carriage House Inn is the most delightful place we have ever stayed! With a warm welcome, the friendly and attentive hosts go above and beyond to ensure a truly personalized experience. Everything was very clean and so well presented, the love and attention the owners give to their property was evident from the first second we entered the grounds.
The cozy rooms are elegantly decorated to preserve the property’s timeless character. Plush bedding, soft lighting, and thoughtful amenities such as games and books scattered about, along with a beautiful sitting area to unwind after a day of exploration, make this little gem a treat for the traveler
This charming retreat is conveniently located near local attractions, restaurants, and shopping. We found it easy to explore the city's historic culture without having to venture far. We enjoyed our stay so much that our only regret is that we did not have a longer stay. However, we hope to visit Lynchburg in the future and we will definitely visit the Carriage House Inn again!
One of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed at, especially for the price. We stayed in the “One of these nights room” and had an amazing time. If you’re looking for something unique and memorable there’s no better option in Lynchburg. The couple who run the inn were very nice and even brought us extra snacks for free when we asked. We’ll remember staying here for the rest of our lives :)
Choices. After awhile, stays in a hotel/motel blend together. Non-descript, can’t tell one from another; hallways with even numbers on the right and odd on the left; less than memorable pictures lining the walls, a functional front desk where you check in…When you go on a trip, can you remember where you stayed without looking at the receipts? OR…when in Lynchburg VA you could stay at the Carriage House Inn and make the evening a memorable part of your day. I guarantee you will remember the stay as part of your travels. Each suite is individually decorated with period furniture and accessories. The original woodwork, fireplace mantels, painstakingly restored. The staircase to the second floor polished with the patina of decades of care…vs, “We’re down the hall on the right, Room 312.” Staying at the Carriage House Inn was a relaxing and enjoyable experience. If you visit Lynchburg, highly recommend a stay at this unique slice of history and hospitality.
Mike and Ruth have a beautiful home. The both of them made us feel very welcome, they checked on us to see if we needed anything. The old place has so much history, beautifully designed and so much information about the place. Places to eat within walking distance. Lucy the wonder pup is such a sweet and kind dog, she would come and visit very chill. Never once heard her bark. Strongly recommended staying at the carriage at least once. Plenty of bathrooms. Kitchen is set up for catering and large events. The landscaping is well kept, also has a pond and patio to sit and relax. I really enjoyed Mike showing us around his place and telling us about the history. Very very clean place. The group I was with loved everything about the place decently will stay there again. Thanks Mike and Ruth for opening up your home.
My suite was perfect and I am hard to please! My bed was so comfortable and my sheets were so soft! I look forward to staying again soon. I appreciate so much you made sure that the temperature was just right in my room. The little things matter so much! Thank you for such a nice stay!
Stayed here with my son, who was in Lynchburg for a swim meet. The unit was very clean, and the owners had it stocked with everything we needed! It was much larger than a hotel room, and having the kitchen area allowed us to make some quick meals at our home away from home. I would stay here again sometime!
Had an amazing trip with my boyfriend to visit family and friends. Beautiful historical home and the host are beyond superb. It’s a home away from home! Loved it! Can’t wait for many more trips and stay at this gorgeous and beautiful home.
We enjoyed our stay even though it was just one night. The innkeepers thought of everything! The rooms are large, the beds comfortable, and there is even a small fridge and Keurig coffeemaker. There is a lovely parlor to sit in, and when the weather is nice, a lovely front porch.
Parking is easy, the location is good and I would definitely return.
This has been the best experience at a hotel Iâve ever had. Everything was perfect! The rooms were beautiful with huge windows, tall ceilings with wood beams. Very clean, comfortable and modern. I absolutely loved the shoebox breakfast concept. I h
Didn't stay there, was next door at Apple Bee's. But hav stayed there in the past. And I would definitely recommend it to others. Probably 1 of the best places to stay. It's like they treat u like family.!!!
