Porcha (spelling, hope I got it right) at the front desk check in was amazing! She deserves a raise. She went above and beyond for us during our check in experience! Helped us change our tee times, got a us a room check in, and was able to talk and carry on a great conversation with us. She was worth the trip to the Carolina hotel! Will definitely be back!
Putting a twist on a Jack Johnson song, all the nice people went to Pinehurst, NC. Incredible place that has incredible people and incredible golf. I expected the great golf but the people were all smiles, staff, guests and locals alike. The Carolina Hotel was iconic and beautiful. Maybe the scent infused lobby includes a hint of nitrous oxide because everyone seems to be in their happy place. Nice breakfast buffet with good food choices throughout the resort. Great pool and jacuzzi complex on one side of the hotel with fire pits on the other and enough rocking chairs in between to go around. And there is plenty to appreciate there for non-golfers. The only negative for me was being first out on course #8 with split tees and making the turn with 12 groups now in front of me. Pace of play 2 hours for 1st nine and 2:20 for the back. The scenery was great but the change in tempo did not bode well for my golf. Maybe allow a 30 minute cushion for the turn? In summary, service is not a cliche here but reality and did I mention the people are nice. Disclaimer - this review is unsolicited and without compensation but it was spring and I had perfect weather during my stay. And after returning home, I did wait a few days before writing this to avoid any possible nitrous effect.
The front office had team members that were first class in hospitality. The assistance they provided was a great help. I work at a Forbes 5 Star resort and believe the Pinehurst Resort is lucky to have Courtney and Gunnar as part of their front office team. Also, Mary who assisted in the shuttle from airport to resort and vice versa was extremely professional and went above and beyond to accommodate. All three of these team members were a great representation of the service I was provided during my time at Pinehurst. ||Ate at Carolina house twice for dinner and once for brunch, was excellent every time. Great fresh catch special Thursday night. Also ate at the Duce, great views of 18 on #2. Cool seeing the stadium seating go up while players hit into the 18th green.
My wife and I were fortunate enough to stay at the Holly Inn during the 2024 US Open. We put our name on a list at the end of the 2014 Open in hopes that 10 years later we would be lucky enough to stay there. They kept the list and informed me a few weeks ago that they had a room for us!!! We were astounded and thrilled! We are well traveled and simply amazed at how absolutely wonderful our stay was! Every staff member (starting with Lauren in Reservations from 2014) were genuinely focused on our comfort, satisfaction and fun experience! The people make all of the difference in a setting like no other. The history of The Village of Pinehurst and the Holly Inn is in great hands! We are already eager to return even before the 2029 US Open!!!
I went with my wife and another couple and played Number 2 in excruciating heat. We had to walk and take a caddie. By he time we got to hole 16 my wife was having a heat stroke. We had to quit on 16 and asked the caddie to call in for a cart to take my wife back to the pro shop. The caddie not only refused to call for a cart, but left us behind walking back to the pro shop. If she were not shaking and just about passing out, I would have complained to the pro shop. After taking care of her and leaving the resort, I wrote the management telling them of our terrible experience. I didn’t even get a return reply from the management. Not only will we never go there again, I always tell this story to my golf friends considering going there for a vacation and have dissuaded most from going there. The management there is absolutely cruel and indifferent to customers in real distress. Had I not got here body temperature back to normal and gone to a hospital, I would have filed suit.
The village of Pinehurst is lovely. We stayed at The Manor - very comfortable and a bit more intimate than The Carolina , however more of a 4 star service options at The Manor ||Played No2- outstanding and difficult but so memorable in many ways because our caddy, Brant, was exceptional. Be prepared - pace of play is slowwwww (5 1/2 hrs) ||Played new No 10 - definitely recommend - will take a little time to mature fully. Be prepared for a lot of walking. Had another exceptional caddy, Troy. ||Reserve the Cradle - so much fun|We’ll be back!
Beautiful and historical. Now, recently updated. Now, spending that kind of money makes sense. We enjoyed the area so much that we bought a house there. Not like other “golf hotels” that are lodged away on a small island. Perhaps more male influenced, however, does have a lot more things to do for women / that don’t golf than others.
The Carolina Hotel is a gem from the past. However, it has been updated so that the rooms, although on the smaller side, are quite well finished with completely redone bathrooms. The showers are quite nice, too. And the maid service is second to none.
You really feel like your in 1895 again. That's the only reason for 4 star room review. But if you like nostalgia you'll give it 5. Best service ever. Best location ever. Everything you need is around you .
Decent hotel. Hallways looked to be in need of an update but the room looked great. Pretty clean. Comfortable bed. A/C has the constant fan option which I prefer. Water pressure and temperature in the shower was great. Staff was super friendly and he
If youâre in Pinehurst for a visit, this quaint coffee shop is a must visit on any tourists list. Their seasonal coffee menu begs you to experience something fun + different. The classics are good too, but the team takes pride in creating new + fun
Beautiful place to take a walk. I went here with my mother and 2 boys. You can make the walk short or long which is always nice. My mom is handicap so sometimes we just take a short stroll but the scenery is always interesting and well kept.
My kiddo has loved this splash pad since he was a baby, has different areas for big and small kids and you can sit on the brick walls to watch! Tons of fun especially for a free activity!
Nice little park in town with plenty of benches to sit and watch everything go by. I went for the farmers market they had going on that afternoon. There were about a dozen different vendors seelling bake goods, soap, fresh vegetables and fruit and
The food was amazing, steak you could cut through like butter and every bite just as flavorful as the first. Our server was great I think his name was James, a young guy. We had outdoor seating and it was so private and relaxing. We will definitely b
1st visit, really nice location. Setting was pretty surreal with the history and sitting right off the green. Parking was easy. Service was top notch. And food and drinks were good. Prices were reasonable.
Impressively managed store and staff. I want to say for a "young" generation the employees seemed to genuinely care about the service and quality of the coffee and food served. I spoke with Layla or Kayla (can't remember the name) the store manager a
