Unfortunately, we wanted to love our stay but no one was working here since check in and the two rooms next to us have over 14 people and have been setting off fireworks all night right outside the room in the parking lot. We messaged the owners and go a response, thanks for letting us know. Nothing else. So all night got no sleep. The wifi didn’t work either. Definitely had a great view was all I could say.

New name The Bygone. They have done a great job remodeling it. Sitting on balcony can be loud if someone sitting out next to you. Wish the lights jn the parking lot were not so bright to see the stars, but would be hard to see the cars at night if they didn’t. Wish there was a shelf or something in the shower to put toiletries. The beds were super comfy! And the views were awesome. Enjoyed the nature hike behind the property. The location alone is worth it. Will return!

This was such a beautiful place to stay! The staff was extremely helpful and worked with us. We were able to check in at 1pm instead of 3pm. Not only that they gave us recommendations for a place to eat$ we can’t wait to come back! We spent a night of our honeymoon here. Will recommend to family and friends!

Paper thin walls. We can hear everything in the other rooms. Not a good view. Probably the only place in the area without a good view. Tiny rooms. I’d be pretty bummed if I spent $50 to stay here. Being here just makes me sad. This is a motel. I don’t even want to spend the night here. We may drive home instead.

The Bygone is not a boutique hotel. With recent renovations, I think that's what they were aiming for, but didn't quite get there. I'd call it an elevated roadside motel. Definitely not worth the $200/night I paid. First, the rooms are small. Much smaller than the pictures would suggest. The room I stayed in felt dirty. There were marks on the wall, some sticky substance on the floor, and the tile was moldy. And let's talk about the beds that others have mentioned. Ours creaked from the slightest movement. It even creaked once when we opened the door. The beds and bedding was weird. Super plush or just really old, I couldn't tell. The bottom sheet was not fitted, it's just tucked in, so it kept coming off. All in all, not a great sleeping experience. I reported the creaking to the office, and their response was just, "sorry about that." The other incident that made the stay unpleasant was a large group that rolled in late at night and then proceeded to have a party in the pool until midnight. Half the rooms face the pool and mine was unfortunately one of them. It was as if I was unwillingly attending at a party I desperately wanted to leave. The pool closes at 9pm. But in their defense, it's only posted two places—at the bottom of an obscured sign inside the pool and in tiny print on the hotel facts sheet in the room. Not on the gate door to the pool, or enforced by a timed lock on said door. There was an after hours number to call for what incidences like this, I presume. But no one answered calls or texts. When I finally did get an answer the next day, again it was, "sorry that happened ::shrug::" No offer to make it right. The upside of the experience was the pool. It's nice and wasn't very busy, even on the blistering July weekend we were there.

I enjoyed my stay. Attractive, cute room, which was clean. Really don't like the type of bed or bedding and huge pillows, but other people might, think my family did. The mattress is very soft. I slept fine, but do not like large pillows at all. Had to adjust the pillow, only one, so I wouldn't have a neck cramp. The rain style shower head was nice. Small bathroom, but it is an older motel that's been refurbished and it was clean. I love the balcony, but it is small, only room for 2 people, better than no balcony. A small refrigerator, no microwave, which people like to have, even us, but not a big deal for us. Great, beautiful views of the hills and valley from our room and patio. The a/c unit worked just fine. Full length mirror, no closet to hang your clothes, only a small free standing clothes rod. Needs another chest to store more clothes in a room with two beds, which we rented. The pool is not big, but it is nice, and pretty with a deck and plants. We enjoyed it. Plenty of pool chairs, and two tables, with umbrellas. We loved our stay and would love to stay again.

We stayed at The Bygone on a Sunday night. Our check-in was super easy as they texted me the information that I needed. When we got there, I did not even have to talk to anybody and went straight to the room. We had an amazing view of the hill country our room, number 14. Our room overlooked the pool, which was very inviting and very nice to take a swim in. This hotel is only a few miles outside of Wimberley and it’s in a secluded location. It’s very quiet. I’d highly recommend it if you’re going to be in Wimberley and it’s also close to San Marcos. We had an amazing view from our room window of the hill country the next morning as the sun rose and the sky turned a beautiful Texas burnt Orange.

This place is clean, has nice beds, and has great views off the back decks. Now to the disappointing part. The road is extremely close, so don't expect a quiet sleep if you aren't use to highway noise. The walkway is all wood pier and beam, so you can hear every person walking by and running by. You can hear people walking around in other rooms. Then with the no sleep I got the night we stayed, someone was having a full conversation outside our door at 7 in the morning. I get it, this place is nice, and could be perfect for someone who isn't a light sleeper. But I don't want other people to be deceived. We came there for relaxation. Which we did not receive. So at 8-9 am I went to the office to share my concerns. I told them I was going to check out 7A Ranch, which they acted as if they never heard of it before. Well we ended up moving to this place, and it was exactly what we needed. Later that night, we are eating dinner, and talking to a local, apparently the same person owns the 7A AND The Bygone. Maybe that's not true, but maybe someone can clear this up after seeing this review. Even though they refunded ONE night, I feel deceived. If its the same owner, why not let us transfer to the other property with refund of the remaining nights? We checked out at 930 am! I will return to 7A Ranch, it was amazing! Look it up, its well worth the extra money.
