What a great, quiet place with an antique feel but modern conveniences. We could walk or take the trolley to all the sites. We stayed in the carriage house. Staying in a whole house with a kitchen is much better than just a hotel room.
We just stayed 3 nights at the Bressmer Carriage House in Springfield, Illinois. We had a wonderful time. The home is exceptionally clean! The beds are very comfortable. The host very attentive. The location is very convenient for accessing all President Lincoln related attractions. Highly suggest using InstaCart to order food and supplies you might need during your stay. I definitely would stay here again!!
They were booked up for the night I was in town but their staff was beyond friendly and recommended another place of equal caliber to stay at. Next visit to Springfield, I will be staying here… that is if they aren't full…gotta book early!
This is one of the best places I have ever stayed. Every time I turned around there was something new. Such a beautiful house and so thoughtfully furnished.
This historic home in the downtown heart of Springfield was comfortable and cozy. We appreciated the cleanliness and all of the essentials. The architecture and historical artifacts gave a unique ambience that we enjoyed. We would love to visit again but would prefer the first or second floor or Carriage House due to stairs and health issues.
Wonderful stay during our family road trip. So much space! We stayed on the ground level floor. Kitchen was well stocked. Dining room was sizeable. The two main bedrooms were massive and the third was a normal size. We especially loved the living room/ parlor area and the laundry. We didn't use the separate study, but I wish we had - it is charming. Truly a great stay in Springfield.
I cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was- the space is immaculate, decor gorgeous! Pictures do not truly convey how large the bedrooms are, how airy and beautiful the living room and dining area is. The bathrooms are beautiful , kitchen perfectly appointed with all you may need. Finally the location itself is super convenient to all ❤️ Thank you so very much!!!!!
This was our 2nd stay at The Bressmer! We connect with family here for a weekend and the accommodations are Amazing! The home is beautifully appointed, it’s spacious, and is located within minutes of Anything you want to do in the Springfield area. We just feel like we’re at home when staying here. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND booking a stay with them!
I love this place ! Just have one minor complaint; they recently got rid of jalapeños and stopped cutting their veggies into smaller pieces - so the chunks are bigger. I usually add jalapeños when I get home and cut my veggies.
Nice people, great coffee (that they roast themselves) and a relaxing atmosphere! They have more than just vanilla for sugar free syrups too! The sugar free white chocolate was yummy. The cream cheese Danish was fresh, tasty and enough for 2 to share
This is an old city experience that reminded me of neighborhoods in old east coast cities like Boston or Philadelphia. It's a quiant neighborhood bar and restaurant with the atmosphere of a 90 year old place that hasn't changed very much. Loved it. T

I came here for the first time and it was delicious. I had the chicken and waffles. They were great. Our waitress also did a really good job, even with it being busy.
