My wife and I stay here once a year, and will continue to do so. Historic, brick hotel in the heart of the North End. Old Boston at its best. Clean, updated rooms, cool lobby and floor layout, and pricing is less than you would think.
Our flight was really, really early. Got to the hotel about 6 hours before check in on 1/21/2024. The person at the front desk was really friendly, and did everything she could to get us in before noon. And the valet handling our luggage was also great.
Such a lovely stay. Wasn’t planning on staying the night but so glad we did. Great location!! Room was very large and clean. Had dinner in the north end which was about a 10 min walk. There’s a restaurant attached to the lobby. Stopped in for a drink and the staff were very friendly. Plenty of shopping and places to eat. Highly recommend this hotel and are.
We stayed here to celebrate our anniversary and we were so happy. The location is the best part, but the friendly staff and restaurant downstairs enhance the experience. The prices aren’t as ridiculous as you would think for Boston. Thank you!
I was excited to stay here based on the reviews and noted 4 stars. The checkin process was seamless and was provided excellent customer service. However , the room I was assigned did not match the reviews and my expectations. I felt like I was staying at a shabby motel. The shower had visible mold. The mini fridge was visibly damaged and crowded with the hotels beverages - left no room for my things to stay cool. The bed sunk in the middle. The rain came in through the window wetting the carpet. I ended stepping on it with my socks and was left with no choice but to wear wet socks to walk in the cold weather. I can imagine this is not the first time there is a leak in the room and I’m sure there is mold under the carpet. The decor in the room was basic, worn and dated for a 4 star hotel. I informed the desk prior to check out and I got a thank you for letting us know please come again, no thank you. I will not be staying here again it was Sufficient for one night and not a repeat visit.
As a family, we visited Boston from 30th October to 4th November and stayed at the Bostonian Boston Hotel. The hotel is conveniently located close to the three T (subway) stations so it makes it easy to get to different parts of the city. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. In hay days, it might've been 4* hotel, but not now. It feels tired and in need of a refurb. We didn't try the restaurant as the prices were too high and you could have a very nice breakfast in nearby markets and dinner at taverns. |However, what came as a shock was the $145.60 charge after we left. Apparently, it's a destination fee + tax. Never heard of anything like that before. The location was good but there were other hotels in the vicinity. Do they charge a 'destination fee'. |Bottom line this is a 3* hotel for 4-5* hotel prices. They charge you for a sneeze. Be aware.
We had a pleasant stay, rooms are standard standard, and kept clean. The location is great walking distance to both S & N stations, across from Quincy Market. Our balcony overlooked the main street awesome view, it did get loud at times but nothing to turn us away!
The gentleman that checked us in was helpful, he accommodated us with an early check in. Which was much appreciated! We would definitely visit again!
I have no idea how this hotel had bad reviews bc our stay was excellent. We actually booked thru ABB but saw the rates were same for direct book. The only star I would have taken away was bc the shower had a little mold around the edges but otherwise clean. There was daily maid service which was so good and complimentary toiletries as well. The windiws even OPENED so we were able to adjust temp and get fresh air. The beds were comfy and the layout so good as it had a dressing room w electric mirror and vanity outside bath and closed fr bedroom. We were always greeted by friendly staff and there’s free cold water bottles. I’m addition there is a restaurant and bar downstairs. As for our trip we walked EVERYWHERE from the hotel only catching the T a few times for trips out of Boston proper. The hotel is directly across from Sephora at Quincy Hall. The weather was perfect as well. Stay at this hotel definitely vs the name brands which were not in as good of locations.
Very happy and pleased with our one-night stay at The Bostonian. Everyone was helpful and friendly from the minute we arrived. Beautiful lobby. Clean rooms. We felt the price was very reasonable for the location and were pleasantly surprised at our small balcony overlooking Fanueil Hall. We would definitely stay here again.
Lovely hotel right in the center of downtown Boston! I stayed in a suite on the second floor, there was only one other room near me. Hotel room was a great size, bedroom itself was huge! Staff was extremely friendly! They have an observation deck on
