The Better Taco - Restaurant in Virginia Gardens - 3948, 3946 Curtiss Pkwy #3948, USA

First time at this place and was greeted by what appears to be the owner. He was willing and happy to serve us. Food was freshly made and heavily portioned for me. I had to get a to go plate. I ordered a bowl and my husband ordered a platter. My meat was Birria smoked plantains and my husband ordered chicken I couldn’t really hear over the fans and the glass in front but the owner was happy to repeat himself and didn’t get frustrated because I could not hear him (I’m a little short). You get what you pay for, fresh food and a clean establishment! If you run across someone that may not speak clear English, just use a translator like Google provides! I highly recommend this place! Be kind and patient because it’s free!

Staying at the clarion down the road before an early flight out of the airport. Needed some quick grub and this place did the trick. Fresh food. Super friendly staff. Maybe on the pricier side for the quantity of food but the quality is well worth it.

The lower score is due to the high prices for the amount of food you get, plus a confusing menu. The staff barely knows any English, so it's hard to figure out what you're getting, and what kind of sauces they have, as the names aren't self-explanatory. A taco platter with 4 tacos is $13.99, but if you want beef for the meat, that costs extra, and if you want certain cheese or certain sauces, that's extra. Since lots of stuff isn't included, the price keeps going higher. I figured I couldn't eat 4 tacos, because I envisioned normal-sized tacos, so I ordered 3. When the order was ready, I saw I got no rice and beans. For 3 tiny tacos, it was $9.99, and add to that the upcharge because I asked for beef instead of chicken. So needless to say, I left hungry. My husband had his extra taco plus rice and beans, so he left just a little hungry. I'll post a picture of the fork next to his tortilla so you can see how tiny it is. The food had great flavor, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is cool, but after paying over $30 for those 2 tiny meals (not including any drinks), we won't be back.

I’ve been staying at a hotel down the road from here for 2 weeks and I’ve been here 4 times, it’s been the highlight of my work trip. I just absolutely love it! Huge portions and fresh ingredients. The staff is all kind and the kitchen appears very clean. If we had something like this where I live, Alaska, I would be a regular!

Great little off the beat place. I opted for the beef bowl which was made to order with Super fresh and healthy ingredients. A steady stream of locals visited whilst I was there. No complaints about this place and I’ll be back!

This is not your typical taco joint and sets the bar high! I had the grilled chicken basket and it was made with super fresh ingredients and lots of love. I was lucky enough to be greeted by the owner who’s passion for quality and presentation shined through.The decor and menu design is bright and inviting. Staff is very friendly and helpful to assist you in building your preferred flavor profile.Try the smoked plantains, your palate will thank you! 🙌
