The Beaucatcher is the former Blue Ridge Motor Lodge. Some local folks bought it a few years ago and refurbished it. The rooms are fine, nothing fancy, with tiny bathrooms (but they each have tubs, a nice plus.) The hotel is convenient to downtown, near the tunnel on Tunnel Road--maybe a mile to downtown. The hotel grounds are actually very nice, with flowers everywhere and an outdoor seating area with a firepit.||Rooms are as low as $81 plus tax when paid in advance. It doesn't get any cheaper than that in Ashevegas.||Breakfast is basic but good: cereals, fruit, oatmeal, granola bars, Chobani yogurt, and an assortment of basic breads and muffins. They used to have Rudy's refrigerated sausage biscuits, but sadly there were none this trip. Best of all, they have a waffle maker.

Firstly, I want to point out the perfect location of this place. It's less than a 5-minute drive to the heart of Downtown Asheville. I wouldn’t classify it as just a motel. The beautiful courtyard was a great spot to enjoy a nightcap drink, hang out, or savor my morning coffee. The rooms were quaint and perfect for a comfortable sleep and quick refresh before your next adventure in the mountains or downtown. I was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast selection. While not a large buffet, it offered a great variety of healthy, high-quality foods to start your day right. The staff were exceptionally friendly, respectful, and attentive to all my requests and inquiries. They were also very knowledgeable about local activities like hiking trails and restaurants. I felt safe throughout my stay, which added to the overall positive experience. I will definitely be returning.

If you are traveling to Asheville wanting a luxurious, high-end hotel stay, this may not be the place for you. However, if you are seeking the friendly charm of this mountain city, I highly recommend the experience of staying at the Beaucatcher. The service is unbeatable--they made sure to reach out to me before my arrival to make sure someone would be at the front desk upon my arrival. The complimentary breakfast was well-stocked (not a huge buffet, but enough selection for a reasonable person), and both check-in and check-out were positive (and quick!) experiences. The rooms were clean and comfortable, although it is undeniable that the bathroom/shower could still be updated. It was a quiet but very convenient location, and both myself and my teen daughters enjoyed the experience and look forward to returning.

Perfect location, for a driver! Check in was smooth! Love that the room had a balcony, felt more like home, then a motel room. What I didn't like was the $30 change attempt on my card ( I keep it locked) after I checked out.

Tunnel Rd can find you anywhere within a short time span, so it’s typically where we stay when we come to Asheville. We’ve stayed at three different hotels along this same road- and this place is just different. It’s cute, it’s quaint, and they’ve obviously done quite a bit as far as the landscaping (and maintenance) to make it look and stay beautiful. There’s no pool (which might deter families) however they’ve taken what once was a pool and have remodeled/renovated that space into a communal terrace or “The Courtyard” including a gas fire pit, vintage Edison bulb light stands stretched across, with multiple comfortable seating for couples or groups. Each ground floor room uniquely has walk-out access to this courtyard/ their own personal “porch” with a second exit within their room, while the only other level (second floor guests) have access to the courtyard with their balcony with their own second exit (each second exit has its own internal locking mechanism also). It’s different, it’s really great, and for the price- you cannot beat the chance to stay at this one of a kind updated “boutique motel”.

I really liked the hotel last year, we felt welcomed from our check in till our check out. That is why we came back this year. The service was totally different. When we checked in, our room was not cleaned up. The manager gave us another room even if he told that it was the last room when we came. The second day our keys were blocked. They messed up clients and cancelled our stay. I received a refund and when we came back home we received a friendly mail from manager excusing for inconvenience and asking to pay for our stay. I needed to spend my time for their mistake and ask booking to reactivate our stay, so we can pay for it. Finally, booking charged us a bigger sum of money but this time nobody answered from managers trying to resolve this issue because of their mistake. So now I need to spend again my time to resolve this issue. It is really unpleasant that I was proactive to their letter and payed as soon as I received it but they ignored my issue that appeared because of their own mistake. Also, they say that are smoke free but do not care if somebody smoke at the balcony. The breakfast is ok for a motel but the only thing that I did not like was the fact that if you stay during week end they will restock the food but on Monday morning half of items will not be there even early morning.

There's a bit to unpack here so I'll try to keep it mild. Starting off with the bad:When we first arrived and checked in, their system accidentally double charged us and the money was not placed back in to our account until the day before we left. We were there from Wed. to Sunday. Our room wasn't bad. But frustrated how the tv's require 2 remotes. Doesn't make sense, but alright. And quite possibly one of the stiffest beds I've ever slept on Now the good. We loved the balcony. They discounted our stay for the inconvenience and did their best to make our stay pleasant. The room we had was decently sized, came with microwave and fridge. There is a kinda continental breakfast. Your standard cerael, breads, bagels, waffle maker, mini muffins, tea, coffee and oj. Simple, but pleasant. Each balcony has a planter hanging from it and not gonna lie, it's a nice touch. Plus it's right across the street from a McDonalds, TacoBell and next to a Panda Express so if you don't wanna drop a bunch of money on food or drive far for a diner, you got those options. Overall Opinion: This place has a lot of potential. It's not the quietest place to stay but it's in a great location and it is affordable. Would I stay again? Yes. And the next time my wife and I travel back to Asheville, we'll probably aim to stay here again.

The biggest disappointment was staying at the Boutique Motel Baukatcher in Asheville. Everything was very nice. Nice room, beautiful decor. The management promised security and security cameras. On the last night, our car was robbed. The car was parked under a sign promising a camera in this place. When we contacted the front desk, it turned out that the car was not visible in any camera. The hotel management lied to its guests or deliberately misled. Not very valuable, but dear to us things were stolen from us. Vacation ruined. For the first time in my life.
