What an awesome restaurant! When you go in, you order your food at the front and then set down and wait for your number to be called, which is really easy and convenient. Service is so friendly and everything is clean. The food was awesome. My wife and i had a footlong hotdog, and we split a philly cheese steak with onion rings and mac and cheese.. i knowit'ss ALOT of food, and it was all great.. i highly recommend this place! Oh, i almost forgot they have a lot of dessert options, and we got coffee cake and a coconut cake to go. I haven't tried them but they look delicious!
This place is a slam dunk. I reluctantly order a gyro thinking it felt a little out of place but it was not. Everything they make is not only delicious and well seasoned, but holds a keen attention to detail that can be easily missed on southern cuisine. The Mac n cheese holds well and stays as moist as possible without being too sloppy. The chicken is fried to perfection and moist all the way through. The gyro meat is seasoned perfectly and cut thinly so it’s easy to enjoy and stomach. The fries are salted to absolute perfection and cut to the perfect size, served hot and crispy. Seriously impressed with this joint. Highly recommended.
I don’t even know where to begin! We were traveling from Massachusetts to the Blue Ridge Parkway. We were ready for lunch. Came across The Barn. Parking lot full obviously it’s a local favorite. I was thinking of getting a hamburger and saw the words Virginia fried chicken. I have heard that the best fried chicken is in Virginia. Oh my do crunch so juicy! Homemade Mac n cheese, fresh coleslaw and mashed potatoes and gravy. Never in Massachusetts would you find a fried chicken meal this good! Please open your restaurant in Worcester Massachusetts.😋😋😋😋😋 We only have fast food fried chicken😢. Thank you for a great lunch!
It's one of my favorite hometown restaurants. They've added fried pickles, and they are delicious! Burgers are always good, and so is the chicken. 5/5 every time
Chicken was good but the sides were very disappointing. The macaroni salad was very bland and dry, mashed potatoes were not hot but the gravy on top was. Pretty quick service but the place needed to be cleaned throughout. Food on the floor in various spots. The chicken was the only thing we liked. Pretty busy place Ok so I see by their response they didn't "like" my review. I gave an honest opinion on MY VISIT not anyone else's visit simply MY visit. Yes the place was busy, and I never said the tables were dirty I said the floor was. I'm not sure how part of my sides were not as hot as others but they were, I have NO reason to make anything up. The chicken was good and cooked thoroughly and my review was not meant to degrade your business but to encourage you in areas that aren't at the best level they could be. You are correct you cannot please everyone but to comment back in such a defensive manner says it all. I could have mentioned the napkins you have on the tables are so cheap they come apart very easily and the trash can which is only a few feet from the tables was smelling so bad it was hard to eat in that seat. Take constructive criticism and improve, don't go on the defense when no one was bad mouthing you to start with.
The food was awesome. The fried chicken is outstanding. I love that the food is cooked to order and fresh!!!! The staff is very friendly, and the restaurant is very clean.
Finally made a pit stop at The Barn Restaurant. Awesome little spot! Looked nice inside, friendly lady at the till to take my order. Although people talk about them having good fried chicken, I went for a good ole footlong hotdog. They were sadly out of footlongs, so they were selling two regular dogs for the same price. Great dogs! I ordered mine with onions, mustard, chili, cheese, and slaw. It's an absolute mess of tasty joy! Oh, and the fries are tasty as well, with an excellent portion for the price. Will have to go back and try the chicken, but for a good old fashion chili dog, give em a try!
The chicken was excellent- moist, tender and flavorful. Service was quick and friendly.
